WHAT!!?? NO COMMENTARY WITH THE CAST!!??? BUT THATS MY FAVRET PART OF THE DVDS!!!! AHHH!!! Im so mad….. 🙁
There is a commentary, but my source didn’t have details on who took part aside from the director. Let’s not make assumptions or jump to conclusions too early.
what exactly is your source?
An official source that has to rate everything so that it can be released in their country.
WHO is the offical source?
Okay thanks. That makes me fell alot better. I really hope there are bloopers too!!!!! 😉
In response to narnia fan, he probably isn’t allowed to disclose that information to the public.
The special features seem to be lacking.
Refresh the story. (If you had read it, I had said to come back in an hour, I was still working on the list.) 😀
I’m with you Aly, and I agree Brendan. Commentary is always one of my favorites. And what about bloopers?! Very saddening. Wonder if they’re afraid…?
There is a commentary track. Not sure about bloopers, though. I don’t think they’re afraid of anything, I do know that Michael Apted ran the film tighter than Adamson did, leaving less time for bloopers, but I also know that some did happen. (You can read about some in our interviews with some of the supporting cast.) However, we’ll have to wait and see if more features pop up later.
Any word on a boxed set?
Haven’t heard yet.
yh there is a box set found it on amazon 😀
It’s a shame Carrie’s version of There’s a place for us (which is the only relevant version) isn’t included 🙁
It’s possible that it will be. This list came from Europe.
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU !!!!
I WANT BLOOPERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it’s my favorite part of all even more than the movie itself jajja naaa just kidding BUT I WANT THEN
AND ALSO THE DELETED SCENCE OF THE 4 PEVENSIE WITH NARNIA CLOTHES THAT APPEARS ON THE TRAILER JUST TO SEE WHY THEY’RE BEEN THERE I HOPE THAT IS THE DELETED SCENE #11
Do me a favor and stop typing in all caps, please. 🙂
So what?
Wow… the attitude without a name.
LOL Paul! Why are people freaking out over this stupid DVD! Come on people really! do you think it’s the end of the world if there aren’t bloopers!
that was kind of uncalled for Paul. You dont have anything to lose in offending me, and so you think you can. thats not how to run a site. 😉
I honestly don’t understand what you just said. And I don’t appreciate your attitude. You’re sitting behind a completely anonymous name, including your “e-mail address,” and hurling jabs and expecting no response. All I did was ask that someone not type in all caps.
Too bad I can’t ‘like’ what you just said. As Stephanie Tanner on Full House always said, “How rude!”
This is a little silly. I know it’s annoying, and not very good etiquette to type all CAPITAL letters. But I wouldn’t necessaraly point it out to a fan on the website. If the comments were constantly in caps, and noticing the same person…maybe. But you guys don’t have to be so touchy. 😉
Yeah, though the person had done it more than once. I didn’t ask rudely. It was rude comments in response from a 3rd party that makes it appear so.
Typing in all caps is annoying to the eyes and is the internet equivalent to shouting, therefore not proper etiquette.
Awsome! I’m hoping/thinking the deleted scene titled The Kids in Narnian Clothes is the scene used in the trailers with ALL four Pevensies walking on the beach, I actually did want to see that in the movie wether it was some sort of flashback or something cus for some reason I thought it was cool (& Susan and Peter are my favorite characters and since I was like five I was always annoyed Susan and Peter weren’t in all the books)
Oh yeah..I was thinking it may be Ed and Lu taking Caspian’s clothes or something on board like that,But I thought about the trailer scene only when you mentioned it..I badly wanted to see that scene, hope it’s there in the deleted ones.. 🙂
And a music video for ‘There’s a place for us “?..YAY.. 😀 I’ve been waiting for that a long time and I love ‘This is Home’video, especially the setting.. 😀 *thumbs & toes up*
I may be wrong, but I seriously doubt that it’s the trailer thing. I’m pretty sure that was shot just for the trailers, as happens with many films.
i agree, it was thrilling to see them all walk together , i was hoping they would walk towards aslan and he would tell them”well done, you have acheived your tasks” or something like that-
Yeah same here!
I must say I will be extremely disappointed if we don’t have the cast with Apted’s commentary. Commentaries are often rather boring with one person, and when you throw Georgie Henley in there, things often get interesting.
I would be sooooo disappointed if Skandar and Georgie were not apart of the audio commentary – that’s my fav. part.
Agree with you skandar and georgie must be in the audio commentaries
and what about BEN!!!!!
Ya ben to we need to have the king caspian commentary
And Will Poulter!! 🙂
It’s not ‘Xander De Burisonje’, but ‘Xander de Buisonje’ 😉
Thanks, Bob!
Looks fantastic! Stop complaining guys and be grateful! 😉
Bloopers could be really nice .it my point of view by the way , eustace rock
Bloopers are my favorite thing on a DVD and is the first thing I look for before I even watch the movie itself.
I think that’s an amazing amount of features! And I think it’s fantastic they’ve added the plenteous music tracks after leaving them off the OST.
Don’t care for Carrie Underwood’s version, it’s nothing special, but I am gutted Sreeram’s song isn’t on it; I love that song!
I am soooo excited I might just have buy all the different versions!
Looks cool! I hope they do add more stuff like the bloopers and cast commentary, but seeing as this is the first official report theres probably more stuff to come. And if not thats a pretty decent list. 😀 I cant wait!
Could someone explain to me just exactly why they’re releasing other versions of the same song for a movie that was never attached in wide release? I mean…I could really care less about who else sang There’s a Place for Us. I’d rather have the version more widely released; i.e. Carrie’s version rather than worthless inclusions of other songs. Ick.
i tunes may have a lock on that…
@ Aravis, fix your attitude or would you like Aslan to scratch your back again in order to help you fix it. Seriously, as much as you adore carrie underwood’s version, you should realise that other artists put a good amount of effort into singing their own versions and should be given some credit for that.
BREAKING NEWS: If you don’t like a DVD feature, you don’t have to watch it.
@Aravis,
I don’t know about other people, but I personally would be very interested in hearing different versions of ‘There’s a Place for Us’. Maybe I’d like another band’s version better? In any case, I won’t know until I actually hear their versions of the song.
Besides, I’m pretty sure that the vast majority of people who have seen VDT would have already heard Carrie’s song, so what’s really the point of releasing it again? The other versions obviously aren’t “worthless”, otherwise they would not have been made. 😀
mee too!
I wish they would have commentary with Georgie,Skander,Will and Ben like the last 2. They were really funny.
I think the numbers on the deleted scenes are the scene numbers as thay appear in the script
Paul. I don’t have mine to hand … but I think thats what they are.
Hey Tony, I think you’re right. The numbers seemed to match up to where the scenes would fit into the movie, in my mind. I think it would make it easy for a tech savvy fan to build their own extended cut.
id love to know where to put in the kids in their narnian clothes, but maybe there’s no sound to it so it wouldnt make sense-
THE tony nixon??!!
Why isn’t Carrie Underwood’s version of the end title song on the DVD? She did write it after all, and her version was used in all of North America, as well as some other countries. Odd.
The odd thing about it is that I think she didn’t record a music video for it. It does appear in the credits, though.
there is a clip showing her recording it, mixed with movie clips
This is sick! =( lack of special features on 2 Disc DVD. I hope I have Blu-ray =(
Yay! Gag reel of some kind! Now I hope that there’ll be commentary with the cast. Am not liking any ideas of Blue-Ray exclusives though because I come from a family who only updates their technology when needed and technology is expensive. Ex: we still have VCRs and VHS tapes.
I know what u mean! I really want bluray and all that technology but we are still stuck with good ol VCR’s and cassette tapes! We do have a dvd player of course!
my question is, are the blue ray extras on the b-r disc, or the dvd disc. i dont have blu ray now, but i’d buy the b-ray if i can see the extras on the included dvd for now.
When does the movie come out of dvd?
I think i might be narnia’s number one fan and my question is do you know what the dvd will be out in stores in uk?
Sooo….they’ve shut out people who’ll only buy the dvd from seeing the deleted scenes? What a rip.
Brain freeze. Never mind, long day.
All ready pre-ordered it! I hope everyone else will too!
I was wondering whether any of you have heard whether they will be making the next movie The Silver Chair. These books are my favourite books of all time, and I would love for all of them to be made into movies eventually.
It is VERY probable that they will make SC next! I think I remember Fox saying that they would do SC next if they make another narnia! If I’m wrong please correct me…
when exactly dvd is coming??
Hey, Paul, I have a question. I don’t have a Blue-Ray player, so if I just by the DVD, will I get all of these features? I’m not sure if this is talking about the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack, or just DVD.
Wish I knew, it’s not clear yet.
Oh, thanks anyway.
Is the running time the same as that of the film that played in the cinema?
I don’t think VOTDT needs a huge extended if it was to have one. Making the 2 disc SE with an extended version would be good marketing i think, the LOTR’s did a dvd release that gave option to watch between theatrical & extended – that would be awesome for fans of a film. The dvd release for VOTD is the connection between the rest of the Narnia franchise on dvd and a new Narnia film in terms of marketing, & is absorbed greater than that of a cinema run.
I don’t know the shooting script at all, but what could be bits that would enhance cinema version? Don’t get me wrong, VODT is very good, but is VODT as good as it was produced?
To me, plot wise the only thing really is the Lone Islands. More of the Lone Island culture & what living with the mist has meant to that, would give ‘the mist'( the major plot innovation) a good & deserved intro effect setting up it’s mystery, for it’s really only it’s introduction that is one dimensional in the film.
Maybe it’s cause of that, but the Lone Islands are the least interesting bit of film. Less plot important but cooler is the fallen star Coriakin, his island and the Duffers; and the other star soul Ramandu, her island and Aslan’s table. More in depth story of those bits would be maybe more fun as they are all such great small mini episodes in themselves & any more time in those parts people would love, but in relation to over all plot their elements are all ready there.
Then there’s a option of having more time with the culture of ship life on the Dawn Treader with the other Narnians & Caspian, and that part of story would be interesting too.
The one thing that doesn’t have room for improvement is the whole dark Island lead up and Sea Serpent battle, as it’s perfectly done and paced while being full of story – one of which being the perfect blend of Caspian Prince & Caspian King i thought.
So in order to get all the special features you have to get the Blu-Ray version? That’s annoying. I understand that a lot of people are switching to Blu-Ray, but that doesn’t mean that they should stop regular viewers from getting the same features. What about the people who want the extras but don’t like Blu-Ray?
You mean people who want the extras but don’t “have” blu-ray? Nothing has been officially announced yet. There’s been no official press release from Fox. A lot of times, Blu-ray will release with more extras as a method to try to get more sales of Blu-ray discs and players.
Well that’s annoying and unfair to those who may not have enough money to buy the Blue-ray player.
I have a blu-ray and bought the blu-ray disc – guess what No special features at all!! Just the movie that’s it @_o
There was a set with the Blu-Ray – Digital Copy and DVD which I didn’t buy – maybe that was the one with special features on it – There was also a 2 DVD pack with lots of special features – I didn’t buy it because I’m trying to get blu-rays – but now I wish I had bought the DVD. I’m so bummed.
Really? That’s very strange. Because the Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy has the same discs, as far as I knew, just the added DVD with Digital Copy.
