We’d like to welcome you to the new NarniaFans.com site. We’ve been working on this version of the site for a long time, and there are still more changes to come, including the graphics around the site. It’s always a work-in-progress, never truly complete, and getting better and more professional all the time.
What’s new?
- Renamed “Fan Section” is now “Fandom“ – We felt this encapsulated what is happening now, with fans getting more and more connected. This includes the Fan Art, Fan Fiction, Poetry, Recipes, as well as:
- New Cosplay section – We’re ready to show off your cosplay projects.
- Submission forms – We have forms throughout the Fandom section that you can use to submit material for potential inclusion on the site.
- Submit News – Have news or press releases related to Narnia / C.S. Lewis that you’re interested in promoting? Submit it here. We can’t guarantee that every submission will go live on the site, but we will do our best to look at every story and will let you know if or why we can’t accept a submission. Be sure to include your e-mail address. We’ll reach out to you to make sure the story is complete. We’ll probably do some editing to the story that you submit so that it works on the site. If you are interested in being a regular contributor, we are okay with that, too. Show us your writing.
- Comment Site-wide – Seeing as this is a Narnia fan site, we wanted to give you the ability to comment no matter what page you are on. We’re very excited about this as it brings a new level of interactivity to the site. You can comment on all of the news, all of the movie pages, book pages, and music pages. We’re interested in what you have to say.
- Easier navigation – We changed some of the page locations from the old site to the new. Most of the pages used to be dynamically generated from a database, every time they loaded. It was slower, clunkier and lead to some strange information in the wrong places if there was a bug in the code. We’ve removed most of that content, and rebuilt it all from the ground up. The rest of the old content is in the process of being removed and replaced with the new system.
- Stage Shows – It’s back! We used to have this section on much older variations of the site, and had always planned on bringing it back, so we made an effort to update the information and links, and get new shows listed. If we’re missing any shows, feel free to let us know.
- Mobile Friendly (and Responsive) Design – One key aspect of what we have done with the site is to make it easier to use no matter what device you’re visiting on. Whether it’s your computer, tablet or phone, you’ll be able to read the site with ease. It also adapts to whatever size screen you’re reading on, from iPhone and Android phones to 4K monitors and laptops.
Is it all there?
- Mostly – We’ve got most of the old sites’ content moved over, but still have a little left to go. Mostly our character and actor lists are left to move over. We’re trying some things with these lists that will hopefully help people find what they’re looking for easier.
Can I help?
- Yes, you can help with this – Comment on pages with updates, additional information, etc. If you know WordPress, you could help to bolster existing content with more information, or add more, new information.
- Submit new content – We have tons of books, movies, music, stage shows, etc. We’d like to list more. If you find something that we don’t already list, we probably haven’t heard of it, so feel free to submit it to us, and we’ll add it to the site. Anything we can do to help other Narnia fans find new content is great.
- New feature ideas – What would you like to see added to the site? Is there anything we’re missing that you came here to find? We would like to hear about it.
