Carey Mulligan did not say much about Narnia on Today, but what she did say was interesting.
When she was asked about the film, she laughed and said she was almost afraid to admit she was even in it. She also said she had “never been involved in anything this secretive” and called that secrecy “quite thrilling.”
That is not a big reveal, but it does tell us something.
We really are hearing very little
For a film this large, the public details are still surprisingly thin. We still do not have a trailer, a full cast rollout, or much from the filmmakers themselves. Mulligan’s comment makes it pretty clear that the silence is not just in our heads.
That may be frustrating, but it is not all bad
Of course we want more. We want names, images, and a clearer sense of what Gerwig is making. But there is also something to be said for not letting a Narnia film leak out in scraps before anyone is ready to show it properly.
What she did not say
Mulligan did not name her role. She did not say anything about the story, the tone, or the look of the film. So we should not force more out of the quote than it can carry.
So no, Mulligan did not give away a secret. But she did confirm that this production is being handled very carefully.
