Narnia Books

Coming out Oct. 10, 2005 is “The Chronicles of Narnia and Philosophy.” Edited by Gregory Bassham and Jerry L. Walls, this is a collection of essays about the Chronicles, with topics ranging from Belief, Doubt and Knowing, to Ethics, Metaphysics, and Religion.

Brian “glumPuddle” sent us this e-mail: I work at a Christian bookstore and we recently recieved this 5-page Narnia catalog entitled “The Summer of Narnia Spectacular.” The catalog is primarily about the summer re-releases of the Focus on the Family radio dramas (with a special low price). Here is a brief description of each image….

C.S. Lewis Expert Devin Brown to Release Inside Narnia with Baker Books as a Guide to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Movie.

Coming out in Sept./Oct. 2005 is “The Chronicles of Narnia and Philosophy.” Edited by Gregory Bassham and Jerry L. Walls, this is a collection of essays about the Chronicles, with topics ranging from Belief, Doubt and Knowing, to Ethics, Metaphysics, and Religion. It’s another book in the Popular Culture and Philosophy series that includes “The Simpsons and Philosophy,” “Seinfeld and Philosophy,” and “The Matrix and Philosophy,” and recently “Lord of the Rings and Philosophy” and “Harry Potter and Philosophy.” Some of the books are currently in use in University classes.

The winner of the competition will have their work published as part of the artwork of an upcoming book on Narnia entitled Narnia Beckons.

Author Paul F. Ford is currently working on both the Fifth Edition of “Companion to Narnia” and a new “Pocket Companion to Narnia” for release in the fall of 2005. What he would like to have, is advice on what needs to be added, improved, and the like. Click “read more” to find out how!
