C.S. Lewis Expert to Talk: C.S. Lewis expert Walter Hooper will give two public lectures in Central Texas next week and will receive an honorary doctorate from Concordia University in Austin. Hooper, once the private secretary to the beloved Christian writer, co-authored a biography on Lewis and wrote a guide to his work, which includes the “Chronicles of Narnia” series and “Mere Christianity.”

On a recent Friday night, 30 fans of the writer C. S. Lewis sat in folding chairs under a vaulted ceiling surrounded by gilt-framed oil paintings of Episcopal priests. Like Lucy Pevensie, the youngest of the four children in Lewis’s book “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” who opens a wardrobe to discover the icy land of Narnia, the members of the New York C. S. Lewis Society immerse themselves in the writer’s fantastical realm.

“Narnia” Store Faces Lawsuit

Kelly Kyle, the owner of a bookshop named “Narnia Children’s Books” is facing a lawsuit for having the word “Narnia” in their store name, according to TimesDispatch.com. This comes as a surprise because the store opened in 1984, and they have not received any prior requests to change the name.
