Rebecca walked over to the young friend of Lucy's with Edmund. She waited before he introduced her before saying anything. 'I hear you're a friend of Lucy's from school,' she commented when she could.

"Yes, Ma'am. Oxford. We met about three months ago. I was not sure I would make it today."

"Hey Nick," Lucy called him, "what do you think of this color for the bridesmaid dresses. She lifted up a blue material.

"Well, Lucy, I think that color is great. It will definitely match your eyes."

Clarissa nodded at the fabric that Lucy held up. "I like that," she said with a smile. "And... what do you think about this as a complimenting color on the dress?" she asked, and held up a piece of green fabric. "What do the rest of you think?" she asked, looking around the room. She glanced over at Peter, and put her hand on his. "How are you doing?" she asked him, worried.

Edmund meanwhile moved walked over to talk to Rebecca.

"Hi Rebecca, how are you? Can you please tell me what are we all doing here?"

Rebecca laughed. 'Helping them out with their wedding plans, of course! It must be difficult trying to get all that done by themselves,' she added.

"Well, that is all good and dandy but, do you think that maybe later you and I can lose this crowd? I mean, I would really like to spend some more time with you. Maybe we can go get something to eat later and talk? I saw a new little cafe today a few streets from here. It looks promising... and quiet."

Rebecca smiled. 'Yes, it's probably a lot quieter than here, so once it quiets down we can head to the place down the road and talk,' she answered.

"Great! I really miss talking to you," Edmund said, holding her hands in his. "We have been so busy we have hardly spent time alone this past week. Today it would be a perfect time."

'I've missed you too... but I've been so busy with the day care and Clarissa and...' she sighed. She never seemed to have time. 'I hope today we can actually do something,' she added.

"Good, then it's settled, as soon as things quiet down here, we can slip out for at least a couple of hours." In deference to everyone present, Edmund gently kissed on her cheek.
"Now, lets see how we can help them finish whatever it is they are doing."

Edmund walked over to Peter and said,

"Hey Peter. I just wanted to let you know that Rebecca and I will try to get away for a few hours, just as soon as things calm down here. Is there anything that you would like me to help you with?"

"Oh! Wait, I have something for everyone first!" Clarissa stood up from her place beside Peter and quickly walked into the kitchen. She opened up the fridge and withdrew the small pieces of cake for everyone to sample. She had worked long hours to bake everything, and still keep it a secret from Peter. She brought the tray into the living room and grinned. "Cake samples!! The best part of planning the wedding!" she said, placing it down. "Enjoy!"

"Nah," Peter said, "you guys can go. Be back before dinner."

"Peter, hello? That's the point of going later, we plan to have dinner together, alone. We need sometime to talk. We cannot go right now anyway, there are a lot of thing going on. So yea, don't count on us for dinner then."

Edmund paused to listen to Clarissa, then he turned to Peter again,

"Besides, I think the cake samples look good."
