Chapter 12
"When truth is divided, errors multiply"

Alana and Peter had not spoken since the events of our last chapter. It was not because they were angry with eachother or awkward or anything, just that they were both so busy, especially the high King.
****
Peter was planing for war, which always made him jumpy and on edge. Edmund would normally have taken advantage of that and snuck up behind him and startled his brother, but he decided that he would not, seeing as how he had been teasing Peter ever since the events of our last chapter. He decided it would not be wise to provoke his brothers wrath, especially when he was planing for war. Peter always had his sword with him during war times, and one time he had nearly killed Edmund because of his jumpy tendencies. If Edmund had not been quicker and Peter not realized just in time who it was, it would not go over well for readers, I will put it that way.
Edmund still did not like Alana, because of what Razin had said after their first meeting. Edmund had not seen much of Alana, but what he had seen of her was just as Razin had described.
Peter, however, had other ideas, due to the conversation I am about to relate to you. It went something like this.
***
Not only was Peter on edge, but when preparing for battle, he was always hungry. So he had decided, for the tenth time that day, to go down to the kitchens. On his way, he met Alana, also going to the kitchen. He offered to walk with her. They continued in silence until Alana spoke up.
"My Lord, I am under the impression that your brother does not like me, am I out of place if I ask why?"
Peter stopped and pondered the best way to answer her. He decided to tell her the truth, because, little did Edmund know, Peter knew exactly why Ed did not like her.
"Well, someone in your company told us that you were, well, a bit stuck up, snobby, and spoiled. Not to mention a flirt." he answered, semi-carefully.
Alana's jaw dropped in shock. Who would say something like that? Suddenly it hit her. The only one of her company that would know about some of those, semi-reoccurring behaviors. Razin.
"May I ask who said those absurd things?" she asked, wanting to confirm her suspicions. She saw in the Kings eyes that they were correct, so she held up and hand, signaling him to forget saying it.
"Well, I may have problems with one or two of those attributes, but I have been working on them, and I have been getting much better, I am told." She said hastily.
Peter looked skeptically at her.
"By the Lions Mane, I promise that I am telling the truth!!!!
Peter realized that she was telling the truth. He thought on this as he entered the kitchen. He was going to have to talk to Razin and Ed.
*****
"Do you know the consequences for lying to the High King?" Peter calmly asked Razin.
"I-I-I-I'm sorry. I only exaggerated slightly.. I will not d-d-d-do it again, Your Majesty."Razin stammered.
"We could send you to prison for this. We could have you executed for this. But we are just, and have decided to spare your life, as long as you do not do it ever again." Edmund said. "Now go."
Razin leapt up and ran out of the room.
"Well, Ed, I believe you owe someone an apology." Peter said with a smirk. Edmund sighed. Peter would never let him forget this.

hey, guys!! Thanks for the comments!!! Sorry it took so long for me to post the next chapter, but here it is. :)

Chapter 13
Edmund sighed. "I suppose I should just do it." he thought as she walked by. He hopped up and ran after her. When he had caught up to her, he cleared his throat and gently grasped her shoulder, to turn her around.
"Lady Alana?" He said, realizing he would need to choose his words carefully.
"Your Majesty?" Alana responded, curious as to what the Just King wanted.
He shifted awkwardly from one foot to the other, aware that his brother was watching him to make sure he did it. "I wanted to uh... apologize about how I have, uh.. treated you, since you came here. I suppose I was mislead, and I apologize. I should not have judged you so quickly." He stated awkwardly. 'This is embarrassing' he thought to himself.
"Thank you... Your Highness." Alana said, slightly shocked. Suddenly a look of realization came across her face and a smile played on her lips. "Did Pete... I mean, the High King, put you up to this, or did he just goad you into apologizing?" She said, looking down and letting her hair fall over her face, blushing at her slip of the tongue.
Edmund raised his eyebrows, and a smirk spread across his face as he saw his brother, a ways behind Alana, with a slightly worried look on his face. 'Ha.' he thought. 'Peter told her to drop formalities.' Then to Alana he said, "My brother did suggest that I apologize to you, I just took him up on his suggestion. Did he tell you to call him Peter? Come along, you can tell me. " he said with a mischievous look on his face.
Before Alana could answer, Peter decided he should intervene before she said something that Ed would use to his advantage. "Well, Alana, I believe you two are done here, correct? I would like to show you something." He said, glaring at Edmund, who was struggling to smother the laughter that was surfacing.
"Thanks." Alana said as she and Peter walked off toward the direction of the beach. "That was too close."
Peter laughed. "Well, I suppose it is just Ed, but he would use it against me forever. I just wanted to get out of there before he had a chance to get enough information to do that." Peter said, rolling his eyes.
"I am worried. I feel that since we have dropped formalities between us, people have started to notice, and are starting to wonder." Alana worried.
"Well then let them wonder." Peter laughed again. " We are not hiding anything. Besides, it can get amusing when they start to wonder."
She turned to look him in the eyes. "But Peter..." Alana started, but Peter put his hand gently over her mouth, silencing her.
"Do not worry about it. It will come out alright, whatever happens." He said.
They arrived at a gathering of logs, blocking their path. "Peter, where are you taking me?" Alana questioned.
"You'll see!" He called over his shoulder as he climbed up the logs. He then turned around to help her up. As they stumbled across the logs, Alana's feet started to get sore, and she worried about her dress getting torn. "Peter, how much farther!" she called, looking up to find herself running right into him. He had been standing over a hole in the logs, but when she ran into him, she pushed him in. As he was falling, he twisted in the air, trying to grab onto something that would stop his fall. Alana, meanwhile had gasped, and was trying to grab hold of him to pull him back up. It ended in disaster. She grabbed hold of him, but did not stop his fall. They both tumbled down the pit in the logs, landing on the ground with a thud.
Alana heard Peter groan. "Peter, are you okay?" she asked.
"I'll live. You?" He replied, sitting himself up.
"I am fine." She replied. "What was it that you were going to show me?" she asked again.
"Believe it or not, this is it. I had just not planed on going down like this." he responded with a laugh and a groan.
"Peter, you are hurt, aren't you?!" she questioned him.
"I will live." he said through gritted teeth.
Alana proceeded to help him up. He groaned. "I must've landed on something hard." he murmured.
"Well, how do we get out of here?"
"There is a tunnel around that way." Peter responded, wrapping his arm around her shoulder to support himself and pointing ahead. They started to walk, but it was slow going. Peter was limping, and Alana believed that he may have broken a rib or two. After a while, he could go on no longer. "Just let me rest for a little bit. I will be alright." He said.
"Maybe I should go for help." Alana said. "I could go get Queen Lucy, or King Edmund. They could help, right?"
"But you do not know your way out. You could get lost!" Peter exclaimed. "I will not allow you to go alone." He said, trying and failing to get up.
"Rest. I will be fine." Alana said, laying her hand on his shoulder and pushing him gently down. He grabbed that hand and kissed it. "Fine, only be careful." he said, letting her hand go.
Alana turned to go, but Peter grabbed her arm and turned her about. "here, take this." he said, handing her a dagger. "It is dangerous down here, in certain places. If you wander to far off path, call for help, and it should come." he said. She glanced down and grabbed the dagger from him. "Thank you, Peter." She said. He kissed her forehead and then let her go.
"Oh, I hope she will be alright." he muttered to himself.
***
Alana made it out alright, and then ran to find one of the queens or kings. She ran headlong into the Valiant young queen, who got a concerned look on her face as she saw the condition of Alana's clothing and how worried she looked. "What is wrong? Where is Peter?" she asked.
"We fell down a hole, he hurt himself, and I made him stay back while I went to get help. He needs medical attention." Alana gasped.
"Stay here, I will go get Ed and my cordial." The queen replied, whipping around and running back where she had some from. She returned to where she had left Alana standing, with exactly what she had promised to retrieve.
"Well, show us where he is!" the Just and Valiant royalty both exclaimed.
Alana led them to where she had exited the pit, and they proceded to find Peter, gasping for air. Alana ran to him, followed by Edmund and Lucy.
"Peter!" they all exclaimed. Lucy pushed herself through and unscrewed the cap to her cordial, then let a drop fall into the mouth of her ailing brother. His breath slowed, and he opened his eyes, slowly. "Oh, thank Aslan you made it out alright." He said to Alana with a sigh, sitting up to his full height.
"Well, it was not hard, besides, I had the life of a king on my hands." Alana teased.
Peter laughed and threw his arms around her waist in an embrace. "Thanks." He whispered into her ear.
"Your welcome, Peter."

Chapter 14

Here is chapter 14...

Chapter 14
"Uh, Peter." Edmund said, waving his hands in front of him to get his brothers attention. Peter looked up at Edmund from his seat on the ground. "Yes, Ed?"
"You do know that we are in, ah.. well... danger... at the moment... Right?" he stammered. He backed up slowly, pulling his sword out of its sheath. Peter looked confused, but then turned his head, grabbed Alana, and jumped up immediately. The reason? There was a 10 foot tall cyclops standing above them.. Its one red eye, in the middle of its forehead, was glaring down at them. It held a wooden club in its hand, which it swung around menacingly.
"RUN!!!!" Peter and Edmund shouted in unison as they turned around and grabbed the women, who were standing there shaking with fear. They all took off for the exit, which was a lot farther away then they had hoped. Peter turned to Edmund, who nodded. He and Edmund stopped and turned to face the cyclops.
Lucy and Alana kept running, until they realized that Peter and Edmund had just stopped to face the cyclops. "Peter!!!" Alana shouted as Lucy shouted "Edmund!!!" "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!" Alana and Lucy shouted in unison. "GO!! WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT!!" Peter shouted back.
Lucy realized that her brothers were intent on doing this, seeing as how they had just attacked the cyclops. As she watched in horror as her brothers struggled to fight the brute, she realized that they were both going for the wrong part of the giant. They were going for its midsection, when they should be going for the eye. A sudden thought occurred to her.
Alana watched as Peter was flung against the wall by the menacing beast. He slid to the ground, but took less than a minute to recover, and lunged at the beast again.
Meanwhile, Lucy was unsheathing her knife. She looked at it for a moment, then threw it with all her might at the brutes eye. It hit!!! The cyclops stopped for a moment, its club raised as it had been about to strike Edmund down. It then toppled to the ground, dead. Peter and Edmund looked at Lucy, who was shaking with fear. Alana was shaking with sobs of joy at the fact that both Peter and Edmund were okay, but mostly because Peter was okay. Lucy flung herself at Edmund, who slipped his arms around her as she started to sob. Peter meanwhile, walked over to Alana and slipped an arm around her shoulders. She turned and flung her arms around his neck and sobbed into his shoulder.
Edmund, seeing this, smirked at Peter, who decided to take no notice of his brother. Lucy stopped sobbing and looked at her brother, who was starting to laugh. "What is it Ed?" she whispered. He just pointed to Alana and Peter. She turned and smiled. "Good." she thought.
***
Alana finally ceased to sob, and looked at Peter, who smiled at her. "Are you okay?" He asked gently. "Because you are, yes." she said, looking at her feet and letting her hair cover her eyes. He lifted her chin and brushed the hair out of her eyes as Edmund and Lucy turned to eachother and started to talk about random things, such as the weather, or how annoyed they were with Lord Askaren, one of the lords from Archenland. Peter moved closer to Alana, and kissed her. She did not realize what was happening until Edmund burst out laughing. Peter pulled away, and glared at his brother. "I'm going to kill him, one day." He whispered.

A Cyclops. Nasty creatures. Story still keeps getting better, but something tells me that they were a little close to something that the White Witch's forces did not want them to know about (why else would that Cyclops be there at precisely that moment). But then that's my guess. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for all of the comments, I did not think this many people would like my story, maybe my self-confidence has been lowered by constant criticism, but I really appreciate it, a lot. :D here is the next chapter for yall.

Chapter 15
As they walked back to Cair Paravel, Peter and Alana started to talk. Both were slightly awkward after what had happened in our last chapter, but not awkward enough to avoid eachother, yet.
"Hey," Peter began, "I want to apologize for scaring you earlier... With the whole 'cyclops' business. I noticed that you looked really worried." he added the last part due to Alana's look of confusion.
"Oh." she said, beginning to giggle. "Yes, well, about that...." she began, but was not able to finish because the king stepped in front of her, stopping her in her tracks and laying his hands on her shoulders. "Also... I was worried.... about you.... as well..." he stammered. " I mean, I was worried about Lucy as well, but when you and Lu had stopped, I worried that it would go after you and I worried when you screamed that it would turn and kill you and....." and Peter would have gone on rambling if Alana had not stood on her tiptoes (for Peter was a good deal taller then her) and kissed him. This time, Edmund did not burst out laughing because Lucy saw what was going on and forced him to keep walking and pay no attention to them.
Peter slipped his arms around her waist and kissed her again, after she had broken away, but that is the last time they kissed for not only that day but for a long while. They then talked for a very long time.
***
Peter and Alana arrived back at Cair Paravel, shall we say, later then Edmund and Lucy had. Susan was waiting for them on the couch in the hallway adjoining the door they came in.
"Where have you two been?" she asked, startling them both out of their wits. They looked at eachother, worried about Susan finding out about them. If Susan found out, it would spread like a wildfire, and rumors would arise, bad ones, knowing the servants.
"I... Uh..." Peter started to stammer. Susan held up her hand in order to silence him and said, "I know. You and Alana are, well..." They held up their hands in protest, knowing full well what she was going to say. "Who told you?" Peter demanded.
"Ed." Susan replied simply.
"Oh that blasted, good for nothing...." Peter mumbled under his breath. "Well, promise me that you will not say a word about it to anyone, especially the servants."
Susan eyed him skeptically, then agreed to his terms. Peter sensed trouble, and wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, but Susan would not allow it. She kept questioning them, until Peter finally just got up and left, followed soon after by Alana. both went to their rooms and got dressed for bed, but instead of going to bed, they both ended up pondering what had happened that day, and wondering where it could take them. It was going to be a long journey.
