Chapter 9
Alana was still angry with the High King and his brother. They had injured her pride by making her do servants work. It was an outrage!
Of course, it had been over a month since that had happened, but she held a grudge. She had not done anything worthy of punishment since then, though, so when she saw High King Peter walking towards her, she was not sure what the problem was.
"Your Highness?" she asked. "Is something wrong?"
The High King looked at her for a moment before answering "What, M'lady?" then he realized, "Oh, well, in a sense, yes. Something has been getting on my nerves for almost a month now. Is there a reason that you do not trust me at all? I do not know if you understand, but I do know that a king is supposed to protect people, they are meant to be trusted. That is why it bothers me so much that you do not trust me at all. I do wish that you would trust me." he explained.
Alana was slightly shocked by the fact that the High King had just basically asked for forgiveness. "Umm.... Well..... I uhh..."
"Would you like to go for a walk?" he asked her.
"Sure." she answered before she knew what she was saying.
"Well, then, come along, miss." the High King said.
Soon they were walking along the sandy beach, listening to the waves crashing against the sandy shore. The sun was high over the water, creating a certain gleam on the water.
"So," the king questioned. "tell me about yourself."
"I was born to Terco and Mreca, Lord and Lady of the southern boundary of Archenland. They raised me well. Some would say that I have been spoiled, and my parents listened to that lie and sent me here. They believe that just because I like things done a certain way and like things done when I want them done means that I am spoiled."
"Well," the king interjected, "all do respect, but do you complain when you do not get what you want?" Alana glared at him. "I apologize. It was not my place to say that, M'lady." He quickly inserted, hoping to calm her rage before it started up.
"That is quite alright, Your Highness." Alana said.
"What was your education like?" King Peter asked.
"It was brutal. They forced me to learn everything from how to heal a dog to how to read in Telmarine. I hated it." She exclaimed.
The High King raised his eyebrows curiously, then asked another question. "Do you have any close friends?"
"There is Askera, my best friend; there is Razin, who is like a brother to me; there is Nasker, who used to be a suitor of mine....." and she went on and on about all her suitors and so forth.

Just as Peter was about to get her to shut her 'pie hole,' Susan came riding up on Peters horse, Halifax. As she approached, Alana stopped and turned to the queen.
"Su, what is wrong?" Peter asked his sister.
"Peter, Edmund and Peridan have returned from their scouting trip." she sobbed.
"Well, that is great! Why are you crying?" Peter asked.
"Because Ed is near death." Susan bawled, throwing her arms around Peter and sobbed on his shoulder.

CRAP, I accidentally deleted the post, so if this does not get posted entirely cause it is too late, sorry.

Chapter 10
Peter wrapped his arms around his sobbing sister, unable to restrain his own tears. He could not make it without his brother, his counselor and best friend. He buried his face in his sisters shoulder and let the tears come. He knew that holding it in would only cause more trouble.
Suddenly a voice next to them spoke. "Well, if you want to get to your brother before he does die, you had better go instead of wasting your time. Go, take your horse and go."
Peter realized that it was Alana and that she was right. He lifted his head and pulled himself together. He let go of Susan and helped her onto the back of Halifax. He then turned to Alana, but she had already started to walk. He then proceeded to leap onto Halifax himself, and ride after Alana.
"M'Lady!" he called to her. She turned to look at him. "Thank you." He said. She knew as well as he that if you had the three of them on the horse, it would only slow the horse down.
He and Susan soon reached Cair Paravel and ran up to their brothers room. He was in bad condition. His shirt had been removed to reveal a huge gash in his side, which had been bandaged neatly by Lucy, who was beside the bed sobbing. He was breathing, but almost not at all, and in short gasps. He was bruised all over, and had blood on the rim of his mouth.
Peter ran to his brothers bedside, placing a hand directly on his brothers shoulder. "Please, Ed, do not die now. I can not run this country without you." he muttered, tears in his eyes again starting to flow down his cheeks.
"Cordial...." Edmund suddenly groaned.
"What?" Peter questioned, not understanding. Suddenly it came to him. Lucy's cordial! It must have come to Lucy as well, because she suddenly grabbed her cordial from the belt around her waist, opened it, and let a drop fall into the mouth of her dying brother. Immediately it worked. He was soon sitting up, and demanding to talk to Peter, while Lucy was trying, vainly, to force him to lie down.
"Peter!" he gasped as he wrestled with Lucy, who had given up trying to force him down and was proceeding to sob on his bare shoulder. Unlike Peter, he would have none of it. "Peter, I know who is behind the attacks!" he shouted. Peter pulled Lucy off of Edmund and forced Edmund down. "Who is it, Ed?" he asked.
"The witches forces. They are trying to bring her back!!!" he cried. Peter gapped at him, aghast.

Next update will be tomorrow. :) I am sorry the last chapter was so short, I intended for it to be longer... I will make up for it by posting either a long chapter next time or writing two chapters...
I am glad that you all like it so much!

Sorry it took so long... Here is the next chapter.

Chapter 11

Peter stared at Edmund, still shocked at what he had just been told. "What if they succeeded? What if Aslan does not come? What if....." Peter immediately pushed those thoughts from his mind. He was the High King. High Kings do not panic. He focused on forming a plan.
Meanwhile, Lucy had gone to retrieve Peridan. They both returned, and Lucy immediately asked Peter "What has been going on. I want the truth, not one of your failed attempts at a lie." She put her hands on her hips and glared at Peter.
Peter was amused at his sisters determination and firmness, so decided to give them an explanation. Just as he was about to start, the door swung open and Alana stood in the doorway. "Well, is someone going to explain to me what is going on?" She said with a smile.
Edmund looked at Peter and whispered, "Do you think we can trust her?" Peter nodded and said, "I trust her." Edmund smirked at this, but was forced to hide it by a glare from Peter, who proceeded to explain everything that has been going on in these last few chapters.
"After that point, I am going to turn to Edmund for a further explanation."
"Well," Edmund started, again with a smirk, " We were on our scouting expedition. We had stopped at a town outside of Lantern Waste, when we realized that we were being followed. We tried to shake them, but they were not easily shaken. We finally believed we had lost them, but obviously had not. They attacked in the middle of the night. They were all remnants of the White Witches army, and they continued to explain to us that they did not acknowledge our leadership, but served only the witch. They told us how they were going to bring her back, which was their mistake. You see, they believed that we would be easily killed, but were mistaken, again. When we learned their plans we fought back. One of the Minotaurs stabbed me, but Peridan was able to fight them off, with some help from Oakleaf and AppleBerry the squirrels. He then was able to help me onto a horse and get me back here."
They all stood staring at Edmund, in shock at what they had just heard. Finally Peter managed to ask, "Well, how do they plan to bring the witch back?"
Edmund's voice was shaky as he replied, "They need all the parts from her wand, then are going to put them all together and use black magic to revive her."
***
Alana gasped. It was too awful. The White Witch come back, in full force? What would that mean for Narnia, for Archenland. She sank into a chair and buried her face in her hands, starting to sob.
***
Lucy and Susan were near tears. "He will come." Lucy said. everyone looked at her, except for Alana, who was shaking with sobs. "Aslan will come to our aid. He would not abandon us in a time like this."
Peter smiled. His sister was right, Aslan would return. He looked at Alana, and had a strange feeling. He wanted so much to comfort her, but did not know how. Edmund saw this and had to stifle the laughter that was arising. He could not help but let one or two giggles escape. Peter turned and glared at him.
Edmund realized that he was still shirtless, and so proceeded to get up and grab a shirt. It always made him feel awkward to be without a shirt in the presence of any woman, wether it be his sister or the laundrymaid.
Peter sat next to Alana, not sure what to do. He was not sure wether he should put a comforting arm around her, or just sit there and wait for her to stop crying. She started to sob even harder. Lucy started to walk over in order that she might comfort her, but then Peter decided to put his arm around her shoulders in comfort. Lucy smiled at this, while Edmund, noticing it, had to hide the giggles that had once more arisen. His brother was in love, he thought with an overdramatic sigh. Peter glared at his brother.
