Caspian/ Ramandu's daughter...

Well, Claire Danes is too well-known, though...but I like the look they gave her in Stardust.

Ditto. Match a new actress, or a little known one, with the hair/costume ideas, change them around adding some originality (not like being a star can be TOO original when movies have already been made about them...)...

BTW, I was watching Pride & Prejudice the other day, the 2005 one, and the actress who played Georgianna Darcy had the perfect hair. Long, golden blonde and curled at the bottom.

Name: Tamzin Merchant
Born: 1987
History: P&P was first movie, she's done some TV, and she plays Alice Davies in the movie Princess Ka'iulani (post-production, 2009).

I'd say she's a fairly unknown, outside of the UK. I guess it really depends on the look people are wanting. I just immediately thought of StarGirl when I saw her the other day...:)

I am attempting to attach the photo that made me think of it...(Google it for a bigger size :))

And those people who like P&P (2005).

EDIT: I always pictured her as drop-dead georgeous. Marilyn Monroe with long, naturally blonde hair, Audrey Hepburn same way. Probably a mixture of all the classic beauties.

Yes, when I saw that version last spring, I thought that she's be good for the role.... but just not quite as beautiful as I had imagined? Know what I mean? The Star's daughter has to be something extrordinary!

Gabrielle Anwar played her in the BBC version and did a fairly good job. (She also played Sonora in Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken). Not exactly a stunningly dazzling beauty. I always pictured her as being lovely--the book character--but not necessarily a "scene-stealer" due to her gorgeousness.

That's the whole thing! She can't just be another pretty face! She has to have a beautful character! A grace and dignity of spirit and a regal presence....

wow! Are they ever going to have a hard time!

I know what you all mean. That was my problem with the film Troy. While Diane Kruger is certianly attractive, there was just something about her that just wasn't right for Helen of Troy ( I think she's far more attractive in National treasure). She was suposed to be this legendary beuaty "whose face could launch a thousand ships". Helen had to seem "worth" fighting for. R's daughter has to be able to enchant Caspian at first sight in the same way. He has to see her and say, " I would not only fight for you but I would die for you."

Caspian immediately refers to her as "the princess"...She must be graceful, poised, regal...

I think the interesting thing about Helen of Troy was, though she was considered the beauty of the world, what actress could portray THAT? The real Helen probably wasn't as beautiful as the Helen of legend. ;)

I completely agree with all of you...she has to be ethereal, dazzling--and the moment you see her, you have to get a sense of the fact that her beauty penetrates not only what you see on the outside, but also what's on the inside. Very difficult indeed!

Okay, back on topic: What do you picture R.'s daughter looking like? Do you have any actors in mind that you think would portray her well?
I answered this question already, but I've since changed my mind....
I just saw an actress that I think would be perfect for the look of Ramandu's daughter... Blake Lively. Too bad she isn't British, but what do you all think? She's tall, thin, beautiful, blonde... everything I ever wanted to be! lol :D

I am really worried if Caspian can forget about Susan enough when he meets Ramandu's Daughter. The kiss in the movie was perfect and lovely, but I think Ramandu's Daughter was made for it, not Susan.

I think the romance between Ramandu's Daughter and Caspian is a romance that was dummed down for children. But C.S. Lewis let us "children" use our imagination as to what Caspian liked about her, and what she liked about him. It's really a mystery, and it will ne interesting as to what the movie makers, will turn it into.

Bomp-chicka-wah-wah

Obviously, Caspian is being set up as a ladies' man. By the time VOTDT is over, he's going to be courting Lucy, Ramandu's daughter, the Galman princess that was left behind (or so we thought), a couple of mermaids and maybe a Dufflepud or two. Go X!

I can see why he would go after Susan; she was, after all, taken to America because her parents thought that the beautiful Susan would benefit more from the trip than her sister or brother. I can also see why he would fall in love with Ramandu's daughter.

I don't think that even the Caspian of the movie really loved Susan, to me it showed that he admired her beauty enough to confuse it with love, and it was a for the movie producers to show that Prince Caspian was not the 26 y/o Ben but a naive youngster. The Kiss, remember, was Susan's doing and was meant to impune her character more than his, it would have been better if they had chosen someone else though.

Caspian/Ramandu's Daughter is going to be something different completely, it should show that Caspian has matured a great deal from close contact with Aslan and actually ruling his kingdom. And, I will say again, Ramandu's Daughter must have a different type of beauty than Susan, a beauty that radiates from the inside out.

Right, right. In the book Lewis didn't have the Su-Caspian thing to overcome, but even in the book here are only the barest details of the Caspian-StarGirl romance. I agree with Terabithian that it wil be fun to see how the movie-makers present it, to finally have some images for what we have all imagined.

There is another thread for who should play her, so let's take all those sugestions over to that thread. Thanks!
