I LOVED it!! Yeah it was creepy but a very great episode and one of the best.
I loved family of blood too and this shows how cruel the Doctor actually can get. And of course one of my most fav episode is Turn Left.
Eleven also has some very great episodes. Curse of the Black Pearl and the Beast below are probably a couple of my favs of season 5 and The Doctor's wife is really one of my most fav of Season 6. But those of you who haven't seen it yet wait till you'll see it ;)

I loved Empty Child ... it was a great metaphor for the way we as spiritual/emotional beings try to "repair" ourselves after deep wounds to our soul ... but we're like the nanites and don't have the right model from which to work, so at best what we do with our psyches is a patched-up job -- and it's not until we embrace Jesus that our true spiritual DNA starts flowing through us and actually repairs our wounded hearts and lives as they should be.... But yes, it was pretty creepy, I agree with that. And I like Capt Jack very much, his episodes are pretty good.

I am watching mostly on Kindle -- I am an Amazon prime member so the episodes are streamed for free. Occasionally I watch on Netflix if my husband isn't home watching the TV.

Oh Vanessa, you reminded me of Family of Blood, I like that one, too, but it makes me sad when the Dr's girlfriend blames him for all the deaths ... but yes, you are right, that one shows a bit of the Dr's tortured soul ... Some of the episodes with renegade Daleks are good, too. I forget which one it was where Rose actually touched the Dalek, and let the one inside his armor feel the sunlight ... that one was good, too. Very poignant.

That one with Rose touching the Dalek was called Dalek. I liked that episode, actually. Daleks are cool. Just like fezzes and bowties.
:)

Yah, the Daleks are cool. I love the way they talk. EXTERMINATE! But that one, the one who thought he was the very last Dalek, the way he looked inside his shell, that was very cool.

I did not really like that whole series (was it season 3 or 4, I forget) with The Master, but I did like that

**SPOILERS AHEAD **

The Doctor was going to let the Master live, and keep him, take him away and look out for him, at the end. He was happy to have another time lord, even if it was the evil Master! And he was going to sacrifice his own eternal happiness to keep the Master alive and keep him from practicing his evil tricks ...

I liked the episode that started that sequence, with the end of the universe ship headed for Utopia ... I just didn't like what happened in the next few episodes. It was too stressful. I do like how the writers weave everything together in episodes like that -- Martha notices the professor's watch, and she knows that it's the time lord soul watch from the Family of Blood episodes, etc.

I LOVE John Simms!!!!! He is so amazing as the master. So creepy and charming at the same time!! The Master always makes his return in the series. He is the Doctor's Moriarty so to speak. The Doctor forgave him for what he did.

Yes, that is what I liked, that the Doctor forgave him and was willing to keep him alive, and carry him.

But the Master himself, I didn't like him! He caused me too much stress!!!

*SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T REACHED THE SMITH ERA YET*

I start to like River a bit more now. I think in the crucial episodes she is really a strong woman who really supports the Doctor.

I rewatched Silence in the Library / Forest of Death. That double episode is so good. I hope the Vasta Nerada will make a comeback.

I did not read the spoilers -- but I agree about the Library double episode. So suspenseful but so cool, too. The writers have a lot of imagination! And the actors are so good in their roles. I haven't had time to watch the next episode yet, but I am slowly working my way through them.

What is fun about the whole series is that the setting can change dramatically because they can travel anywhere and any-when. I kind of loves the ones where they are back in the earth's past. That Daleks in New York series was kind of fun -- although the pig slaves were pretty hokey!

Inky I noticed you're reaching the end of season 4. Yes still some episodes to go but you're almost there. Once you're done with season 4 I recommend you to watch the 5 specials David did or at least the End of Time double. This is to understand season 5 ;)

The End of Time was part of the specials and not of Season 4. Both episodes were sad but necessary to go on with the specials and season 5. Season 7 is very good!! It has some pretty good storylines and a great GREAT Christmas special!!! I won't give away spoilers but at a certain point you'll need tissues

Season 4. I didn't like End of Time that much, but it did have it's moments.

Ive seen the Snowmen so many times. I bought it righ after it came out.

But the Master himself, I didn't like him! He caused me too much stress!!!

That's no good because after series 4 ends, you'll have to watch the specials, which is what we got from 2008 to 2010 instead of another series. The specials are in this order:

The Next Doctor
Planet of The Dead
The Waters of Mars
The End of Time, Part One.
The End of Time, Part Two.

After that you can go on to Series 5.

Thank you everyone for the info on the specials! I know that Amazon has streaming of The Next Doctor, but I will have to look for the rest of the specials. I just finished Journey's End and

** Season 4 Spoilers **

I was so sad that Donna had to go! I loved her character, and I loved that she saved the universe! How sad for her never to know it, and to go back to how she was before she ever met the Doctor! I was totally crying when he was leaving her with her family. I am curious who will be his new companion.

Also, I loved that they gave Rose a Doctor of her own to love! That was so sweet, and yet so sad both for Rose and for the real 2-hearted Doctor! He had to see his double get the girl he loved ... so tragic, and yet what a happy ending for Rose. I liked that Mickey came back to his universe.

And I have to say, the Turn Left episode was a real standout, just before Journey's End. That big bug though was disgusting!

OK, on to the specials as soon as I have time -- and if I can stream them on my Kindle!

Well to be honest and that's just me the whole Rose/Doctor romance was not necessary. During all those years of Doctor Who he always had female companions and some even longer than Rose. So I thought this whole romance thing was a bit over the top. Well Rose knew the human Doctor was not "her" Doctor. You could tell by the look on her face. The Doctor reached the point he realized he had to let Rose go. Like he said in School Reunion: You can spend the rest of your Life with me but I can't spend the rest of my life with you. His life continued and he had to move on. His double was like the way he was when Rose first met him (Nine). Rose made him a better person and so could she do this to the human Doctor. Out of all companions I loved Donna the most.

The Next Doctor is a Christmas special and is funny :) The ones after it become a bit more darker
