Doctor Who

I am about halfway through The Next Doctor, and so far it is cute. I can't imagine what will happen -- but I never can; the writers are very creative and amazing.

**Season 4 SPoilers ahead**

I liked the romance with the Dr and Rose. It was sad and poignant, and then her receiving a replica of him that was sort of him, that was a great way to wrap it up. I didn't like Martha's pining for the Doctor -- it sort of demeaned her character, but in a way it made it easier for her to leave him, knowing he would never return her love.
 
That part made me cry. I miss Rose a lot! I think it was a great way to end her story and also the Doctors relationship with her.
 
I don't miss Rose at all. She was a good companion and I like her a lot but she started to annoy me. Same with Amy. I personally liked the bond between Rose/Nine better because this was more natural. Rose/Ten felt a bit forced into something romantic actually although we never saw a romance happening. I liked the bond between Donna/Ten better because they really had something deep going on. Not only did she saved his life but she also softened him (Runaway Bride, Fires of Pompeii, Doctor's Daughter). I wished there were more seasons with Donna as a companion.
 
I totally agree about Donna! I loved her, and she was only with him such a short time. I liked that there was NO romance, and that she had such strong convictions and heart and made him listen. Plus I admire the actress, she's really good.

But I liked Rose and Martha, too. I still am in the middle of The Next Doctor and curious about who is next companion will be.

I loved that episode! Very suspenseful and so imaginative. With the video log interacting with the young woman ... so weird and cool!

Alone! Aw. Poor doctor! But the Next Doctor has a companion! Only, he doesn't know how he is ... I still didn't get back to that one to watch the second half!

Thanks for asking! I finished "The Next Doctor" and really loved it; I thought it was sweet, that poor Cooper thinking he was the doctor ... but I am not sure that Amazon has the End of Time specials for Kindle. I will check it out, and if not, I will check Netflix. I prefer to watch on my Kindle because sometimes it's tough for me to get the TV to myself, and my husband is not yet watching Dr Who. I wil keep you updated! Can't believe I waited so long to start watching. I am loving Dr Who. :)
 
OK, Amazon has a "series" called "The Tenant Specials," so I thought I would watch all of those between seasons 4 and 5 -- End of Time is part of this series. Right now, I have started watching the first one which appears to be a 2-part Easter special, does that sound right? The dr and some new friends on a bus were just thrown onto a world that has been destroyed by what looks like some giant flying metal stingrays. That's where I left them when I had to leave on my business trip for two nights! Hopefully I will get back to them soon. I can't believe this will be the end of Tenant as the Doctor at the end of these specials. I love him!

Yes, Inky, those are the specials and the one you are describing is called The Planet of the Dead. It is not a two-part series, it's just one big episode, almost movie-length. Once again, the specials are in this order:

The Next Doctor
The Planet of the Dead
The Waters of Mars
The End Of Time Part I
The End Of Time Part II

When you are done with these, and before or during watching Series V, you'll have to go and watch videos with the music for the series. You'll find out that the music is just as important to fans as the actual episodes, this is because of the genius of composer Murray Gold who has written some of the most memorable Doctor Who music and themes. You'll see.

In the meantime, you could watch this mini episode (5 minutes long) that was aired as part of a charity event in 2007. It features the 10th Doctor meeting the 5th. It falls in between Series 3 and 4 when Martha left but before he hooked up with Donna again.

What I would like to know is how Inky is doing with the watching!

The second half of Series VII starts on March 30 I think.
 
Finally got back to the Tenant Specials on my Kindle --

Just started watching "Waters of Mars" last night. It is so sad -- the Dr was explaining to Capt Brooke what her descendants accomplish because of her heroism ... Very scary one!

You're almost there! You just need to watch the End of Time I and II and you're on to series V!
 
Last weekend I finished Tom Baker's last season. In have seen them all and I grew so attached to his Doctor!! Now I'm almost done with davidson's seasons as well because I already saw 1 and a half season last year.

I think Rainshadow also made huge progression. She's already halfway through season 5 :D
