I tried to reply yesterday but got a database error. Anyway:

Nowhere is said Clara is a Gallifreyan. Neither has it been shown her as a timelady. And because she has been born a couple of times and not regenerated I don't think this is the case. That evil guy went into the Doctor's own timeline to undo everything the Doctor did. Clara went inside as well to save the Doctor's life. Because of this she was shattered into million pieces and followed the Doctor's line everywhere she went. Making sure he would make the right choice so all evil done to him would be undone again and everything would go as it should go. And because of this Clara was not being able to come back so the Doctor had to go into his own timeline to save her what he did.

As River would say SPOILERS!
I think it was fairly well explained that what happened with Clara was that when she entered The Doctors timeline she created `echos` of herself that were born, lived and died as people in the usual way (two of which we`ve already met) throughout time but who existed only to intervene in the Doctors life at key points.
Now one of these `echos` that we actually see appears to be the Gallifrayan technician that tells the first Doctor and his grandaughter Susan that they shouldn`t take the Tardis they originally intend to since its dangerous but rather the next one in line which has a "knackered" guidence system but otherwise OK!
So this version, while not a Tme Lord was clearly of Gallifrayan origin.
Now, the question is how much of the various `echos` memories does the `real` Clara retain now that she`s re-integrated and will we run into further `echos` further up The Doctors timeline?

I made the color white on purpose.... Well no matter if it is Gallifreyan origine...this doesn't make HER Gallifreyan. Like I said before by making this decision to save the Doctor she made herself "born" to save him. Because of that one decisions she made.
I however won't mind if Moffat is changing it and turn her into a regeneration of the brilliant Romana ;) That would be so absolutely brilliant or FANTASTIC

As far as John Hurt portraying The Doctor later on, there are two theories floating around. One, that he is the real 9th Doctor, and that he did something terrible that made the Doctor keep that regeneration secret. This means that the current Doctor is actually the 12th, not the 11th.

The other theory is that he was the Doctor before he became the Doctor. Both theories are kind of wild, but both are very plausible. I don't know which one to believe.

Sad news... MATT SMITH ANNOUNCED HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE SHOW OFFICALLY TODAY. It was on the BBC Blog and also on the BBC News I saw a few minutes ago. He is going to regenerate in the Christmas Special.

Thanks Matt, you were an awesome and brilliant Doctor. It was not easy to take over from the huge popular Ten but you grew in the role and was really growing as one of the best Doctors ever! You will be missed :(

I can't say it's sad news because I'm not really sad. I say it's exciting because now the speculation begins about who's gonna be the 12th Doctor!

No! I liked Matt!!!

but maybe then John Hurt will be the next Doctor. Oh, but, I forget, did they say in the program already that he isn't called the Doctor? This time travel stuff is so confusing.

I agree with Vanessa though, I hate that Matt is going already. :(

The next regeneration cannot be John Hurt's character because that he has already been that. It would have to be a new one. Oh, but wait! Maybe John Hurt's is THE future regeneration! I always forget that time is not a strict progression of cause to effect but more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly....

Hmm -- since I have never seen "classic" Who, I had not heard of this character. Very interesting theory. I also read one blog that suggested this is the end of Dr. Who, that there won't be another Doctor, just whoever John Hurt is, and then the end of the series altogether.

This is your fault.

ALL OF YOU!

ARRRGG!!!!!

I'VE BEEN PULLED INTO A SERIES WHERE EVEN THE MAIN CHARACTER DIES!

*deep breath* So, I usually try to avoid fandom threads until I am completely up-to-date on them, but since Netflix doesn't have season 7 anyway and I'm going to be gone for 3 weeks I've made an exception. I'm still not very far in the show, though, but I think my cousin will be happy to know that I've found more people to vent to. I just finished season 4 (or whatever, the last episode I watched was "The End of Time part 2", so that's my excuse for my little outburst up there.) my cousin (who I have also gotten into the show) is somewhere in season 2.
I, unfortunately, or fortunately, become obsessed with things very quickly. However, I probably won't be posting here very much until I've watched all the modern episodes I can find on Netflix (they don't have all that many old ones either, in the scheme of how many seasons there've been) which will be quite a long time from now.

I just wanted to let you all know that I have been dragged into this fandom. (And I made myself my own miniature TARDIS and gave it its own, random, key, because I have no money. And I ran around today looking for my old 3-D glasses.) Oh, and it made me cry, which makes it the second TV show ever to actually make me cry.
Thank you for your time.:p

You are hooked! Awesome! Can't wait for you to see the rest of the seasons! You will like each new doctor, honest. :)

Netflix does have all the series since Series 1, or as Netflix has them, Season 1 through 6. You watched the End of Time part 2 and yes, the Doctor sort of "dies" there, but he's just one version of the Doctor, he actually comes back as the 11th regeneration. I think you should start from the beginning to understand what's happening. I actually recommend (FOR YOU ALONE) to watch the first episode of Series 2 (New Earth) and the fourth episode of Series 3 (Gridlock) since they're both about cats!!:)

I was too tired to read the other night, so I was looking on Amazon instant video for a free program to watch and decided on Sherlock. It took me a couple nights to get through the entire first program -- which was great!

But I noticed Sherlock

A. was Kahn from the new ST movie
B. acts a lot like the Doctor

And later I saw Sherlock and Doctor Who series have Stephen Moffat in common. Have any Whovians also gotten hooked on Sherlock? I am going to try to watch the rest of season 1 soon. The first episode was cool.

Ladies and gentlemen, WE'VE DONE IT!!! :D Teeheehee! Which Doctor did you start with? Which season? Please say you started on season 1!

Oh, and Inkspot, yes, I've watched Sherlock. I'm (very impatiently) waiting for season 3 to come out.

Cool. I want to watch the rest of season one when I get the time. I did watch one more episode. I like it!

Going to Comic Con tomorrow. Dressing up as Amy Pond. OH, and I made a poster for Matt Smith, saying Thank You Matt. I have tons of names from Tumblr on it and I am planning on giving it to him Sunday.
