Legoas!

Definetly Legolas. Here are my reasons:

1. He's an elf
2. He looks cool (like magical and stuff)
3. Aragorn trusts him
4. He uses a bow
5. He can mount a horse by grabbing the reins and pulling himself on top (only in the movie)
6. He stands up for Aragorn at Elrond's council
7. He can see far distances
8. He's just cool! Anyone can see that!

Wow! Hard choice! But my favorite is definitely Sam, so I chose the Hobbits. I'm not sure it's fair to group them all together like that, but anyway. Sam is great; he's so loyal, and without him Frodo would never have been able to complete the quest. After Sam my favorites are, in no particular order, Aragorn, Legolas, and Faramir.

My favorite character has to be Sam. Frodo would have never made it to Mount Doom without Sam. He's, to me, the hero of the book. I love him :)

Yes! I LOVE Sam. He is the truest character from the books to the films (in the way he was adapted). Frodo's a wimp without Sam. :p And Eomer is my second favorite. :D

Gandalf.

...Do I have to give a reason? :p I just love his wiseness. Without him Frodo wouldn't have made it out the front door alive, to name one of his purposes. ;) But his wise, warlike-yet-friendly demeanor just captivates me so much...

I like his change as "The White" better than "The Grey," but I still hold dear that lovable side of him while he remained his old self. "The Grey" was more human-like in his actions and speech, carrying a certain comfortable mood, while "The White" was more militaristic and prepared for any event (as well as more powerful and wiser). Gandalf's just who appeals to me most as a person... better yet, an immortal! :D

I didn't vote for any of those because my favorite character only had a sort of small but good part in the books and an uncredited part in the movies:
Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth

Here are my reasons why I like him:

But beyond, in the great fief of Belfalas, dwelt Prince Imrahil in his castle of Dol Amroth by the sea, and he was of high blood, and his folk also, tall men and proud with sea-grey eyes.

And last and proudest, Imrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth, kinsman of the Lord, with gilded banners bearing his token of the Ship and the Silver Swan, and a company of knights in full harness riding grey horses; and behind them seven hundred of men at arms, tall as lords, grey-eyed, dark-haired, singing as they came.

East rode the knights of Dol Amroth driving the enemy before them...

Aragorn and Eomer and Imrahil rode back towards the Gate of the City, and they were now weary beyond joy or sorrow. These three were unscathed, for such was their fortune and the skill and might of their arms, and few indeed had dared to abide them or look on their faces in the hour of their wrath.
