Homeschoolers in Highschool, Part Three

quick update on the Katon's:

Jason woke up underneath a tree in the middle of a rainstorm, he went home and got sick again (that boy has such a delicate constitution...)

Kaitlyn went home and yelled at her sick brother, b/c she learned he was involved in a gang. Jason got all emotional 'cause he was sick, and yelled back. Kaitlyn has been going to school since, coasting through, re-thinking her life.

BTW everyone: Jason already joined the gang... I dunno if that complicates matters... probably...

TO CONFESSOR: Thanks to recent events, Jason may now find himself the president and sole member of the gang in Shilohsville.

Alipang made an excuse-me gesture to Summer, then overtook Chilena swiftly despite the pain of rapid movement. Coming up behind her, he announced himself by saying, "Sweets, you have to be more patient with people. Summer was probably just thinking about how much she _could_ say. Maybe there's something her family knows that she isn't sure she's allowed to tell." As he said this, his arms went around her waist. "On doctor's orders, I can't pick you up and carry you back to Summer, so will you please come back under your own power?"

To G-Voice: Do you realize that N-Fan is holding off because we were hoping to get Nightfire back on, to give "real" information on Dan's father?

There was no east side-west side friction allowed at the Pansit Paradise. Customers came from all over the county. Thus, although now was the first time West High students had entered wearing their colors when Kim was present, it was not really anything strange.

Four ethnically-various boys, none below age 17 by the look of them, came in wearing West Panthers jackets in teal and black. As soon as they saw Master Imada seated with Dolores, they went over and greeted the couple with obvious respect. One said, "Master, how is First Student doing?" Pitik proceeded to bring them up to date on Alipang, who apparently was known to all of them and held in high regard. After this, the boys sat at one of Kim's tables, giving every sign of intending to be on their best behavior.

Meanwhile, Alipang thought privately, Hoo-ee, even my sister shuts me out now. He came almost to military attention. "As you like; but first, a little recon, in case Summer's Mom _isn't_ entirely imagining things." Bringing out his knife, he trotted outward a ways, scouted around, satisfied himself that no thugs were lurking near, went back past Chilena without looking at her, and returned inside Summer's house to make excuses for his sister to their friend.

" Al I didn't mean to yell at yo," she told him, walking up to him " I just I don't so confuse about all this," she told him, taking his hand.

"No offense, Sis, but I don't think you'll get any _less_ confused by going off and stewing in it. I try not to stew too much over Kim treating me like a brain-dead infant; I keep on living my life."

She looked up at him " Al I wish I knew more about my family and why the gave me up all I know that our mum wanted a child but why me?," she told him.

Finding Chilena calming down some, Alipang drew her into his arms again and kissed her. "Mom and Dad have already told us some of it, and from a cold start, with us springing it on them suddenly. Be confident, sweets, the answers are coming. And please don't make Summer feel as if she's intruding on something, when it was WE who came to HER house."

" I'm sorry I-I didn't mean to, but my head was spending around wondering about all this," she told him,She looked down at the floor.

"Take it the way you took Spanish in homeschooling: a piece at a time." He enfolded Chilena in a closer embrace now, letting her just hear the sound of her own breath and his.

Meanwhile, at Pansit Paradise, the West High boys introduced themselves to Kim, giving their names, behaving with a courtesy which seemed real, not pretended.

After a minute or three of snuggling close together, Alipang kissed her once more, then said, "Okay if we go in and let Summer be our friend? We can find other things to talk about, you know."

Alipang rubbed noses with her. "We don't have to talk about Dan, but don't be mad at him either! He didn't command his father to act off-putting with you. Let's talk about my FAAAYYYYYY-vorite subject: football." Though he was being sarcastic, there was in fact some ground for talking about that sport. East High had outperformed West High last year in football, but not by a huge margin; this year, the Falcons' new captain was untried in leadership, and the Panthers had some really large new players.

" He didn't know who I was and why I was there," she told him, with a smile then rolled her eyes " Ah, I don't think Summer well like to hear about your football," she told him, taking his hand.

They came back into the house. "Hey, Summer," called out Alipang, " _I'm_ sorry that * I * lost control of _my_ emotions like that, but Chilena talked some sense into me!" Turning to his sister, he hissed, "Heck, might as well let _every_ girl act superior to me--it's the coming trend."

She rolled her eyes at him " Oh, come on Al stop that," she told him, her face trun red from blushing " Brothers," she said under her breath.

Summer smiled. "I'm glad everything got worked out. And every girl isn't superior to you." She said smiling. "Are those notes acceptable?" She grinned.
