Alipang (knowing that his other pal Sammy had informed Brendan about the incident) whispered to Brendan, "It may be dangerous being my friend right now. Those creeps don't have any guts, but if they have big enough numbers they'll try something dirty."

Brendan grabbed Alipang's shoulder, and pulled out the threat-note. He showed it to Alipang, and let him read it silently, gaging his expression. He took it back, and then ripped it up and crumpled it into a ball.

"Friends don't bail on friends. This kids are cowards, and they need to be shown their place. You're gonna need my help."

"Thanks, Brendan. But we don't need to drop everything this minute and play detective. Just keep alert--for the safety of those we care about."

ooc: I guess I'll start the assembly.

After the assembly had been called to the gym, Mrs. Lewiston clamored up to the podium. "Attention all." After no progress had been made, she called out in a more strict manner, also raising her voice, "I will have attention in this assembly. Thank you." The crowd was instantly hushed.

"It has been brought to my attention, that one of your fellow classmates was put at risk by two young men, whose identities remain unknown, and could very well be among yourselves, during the course of last night as they were walking. It is unclear what motivation was behind this attack, though I highly suspect there was racial underlyings. The report is that your classmate defended himself thoroughly, making the others flee in response. Though we are glad everyone is safe, this is not the action we will take IF there is any future occurence. If anyone has information that would be helpful to the Police in their investigation, I request you stop by my office."

"We were placed on this earth to express love to one another. we were told to love our enemy, and thats exactly the behavior I expect out of each and everyone of you." While saying this she scanned the mass, specifically eyeing Alipang and Brendan, who exchanged a look after the gaze passed. "As my duty as Principal of this establishment, it is essential that I guide you to the path of moral equivalency to all around you. The ultimate conqueror of violence is self-love. We must love ourselves, and one another. With love, violence is unnecessary. To inspire faith in this prospect, are there any students who have their own stories that would like to come up, and show your peers the way?"

After any brave soul who stood up..

"You must have faith in this idea, in yourselves. I guarantee that if you walk towards your alleged enemy with open arms, he will embrace you likewise. Is that so hard? I hope you will realize this in your thoughts and your actions, peace is the only way."

Mrs. Lewiston stepped down from the podium, and the Vice Principal, Fred Warner took her place.

"You are now dismissed to your classes. Please exit the auditorium in a quite, and organized fashion."

Summer tried not to laugh. She totally agreed with loving your enemy and stuff but the principal was, well, a bit to into love. Summer thought she was trying to get the school to be the perfect school. Not try to protect the students. Summer stood and walked out of the room still thinking about what the principal had said.

NOTE THAT DRIAD'S POST ALLOWS RETROACTIVE INSERTION OF STUDENT REACTIONS BEFORE THE AUDITORIUM IS EMPTIED. SO THIS HAPPENS _BEFORE_ DISMISSAL...

A tall, brown-haired girl was the first to stand up in response to the Principal's invitation.

"My name is Callie, ma'am. Just the other day, I was walking outside when a Rottweiler charged at me. It wasn't playing, it was going to kill me. A man on that block, Mr. Kramer, the Navy veteran, beat it to death with a shovel. That dog wasn't going to reason with anyone. If Mr. Kramer hadn't saved me, I would be dead now. All my friends know that I'm not into fighting; I don't even like arguments. But I can't help thinking that maybe some PEOPLE are like that Rottweiler--and WON'T embrace you."

Sammy Ashford, and several other kids, applauded her. Mrs. Lewiston stared in stony silence.

ooc: Good example, but am I expected to address this completely overdrawn, and exxagerated example :p (kidding!)

Kids were still nervously making way for Alipang as he and Brendan exited, though both boys were doing their best to project a NON-belligerent attitude toward those around them.

Not one to care what anyone thought, he moved through with Alipang. Holding Jen's hand as he went.

"It was me," Alipang told Summer. "That's _why_ I asked if you would believe something I told you for which I had no other witness." He briefly described how he had spotted and outmaneuvered last night's ambush.
