Again with the hatred in the 30 thread and now here- people like different music, I don't see a probelm with that...

I'm so sorry that we all have similar interests here and love our music, and it means something to us. And no "your" forum isn't getting taken over. We have our own little place- we hid don't worry about us!

Stop that. Why, WHY do people have a go at others for their music taste? And coming from a MOD too. You should know better.
And WHAT the heck is this emo rubbish? It's labelling people and putting them into groups. We're human beings with different music tastes, not food products for Pete's sake.
I, quite frankly, am sick of it.
Do I have a go at people for listening to rap even though I hate it? No.
Do I call people 'emos' and label them cruelly? No.

That was terrible last night, I had to on my own take on yet another criticizer...to make a long story short, I communicated with them off this site so that I could say what I wanted in full language and explination. This person pretty much just said that every one of us in this thread, he hates because we don't like what he thinks "constitutes good music"...so I basically told him he had communistic ways and thought only his tastes matter in this world...I probably didn't get anywhere with him, but maybe I got him out of this thread and the 30 thread- because he started there.

This is seriously one of the only places on the internet that doesn't bash a certain type of music- ok so all of us who post here pretty much don't like rap, and it's our opinions and ok we are allowed to have that, but if this guy thought his harsh words would change us he's wrong. Even sadder than the whole arguement, he said he loved RHCP and smashing pumpkins etc...um sounds like the same category for the most part- still an abrieviation of the rock genre, which is what we discuss here...and he has such a hate for other parts of it- that's genuinely depressing because rock in general needs to surface again, and it's people like him who aid in putting it down. Also I hate to break it to him- but in the 30 thread he said makeup was so worng- I seriously hate to break it to him, but I have definetely seen Anthony from RHCP wear makeup lol...too bad he doesnt do his research.

Also one more thing- whoever gave him the definition of "emo" gave him false information for the most part...

So moral of the story- people are allowed their own opnions on music, if we all liked the same thing, life would be mad boring! I think I speak for all of us in here when I say: Respect us and our likes, even if you don't like them or us, and we will respect you and your opinions!
 
I know I am double posting, but... just show how much we love the men in makeup and do not care about "emo" labels, because we still admire them for their work, I feel the need to post some of my personal and some group favorites....granted I think personally I love more bands now who do not wear makeup, but that's obviously not the reason. Saosin are my fave band and no they don't but w/e...chiodos, bullet, underoath, etc etc etc makeup or no makeup, emo or not, a band can be special regardless of labels! So just for the reason of showing love here they are: (Only allowed certain amount of images so the first 3 will be urls/links)

omg! you just said the exact same thing that i am constantly saying when people call me emo! you know, that whole generalizing and sorting poeple into groups like some kinds of different species.. thanx for being reasonable :p

I think I've made my point clear numerous times.

On a happier note I took the SAT's today! It's over, I hope I did well enough so that I NEVER have to take them again! I actually was watching music videos on 3 channels this morning before I left (because I flip from mtv, mtv2, and fuse because its usually really bad rap videos, and I can't stand rap we know that haha, on those mtv's that I just turn off, and fuse only has about 30 min. in the morning before a huge load of paid programs...), but anyways- totally watched the new linkin park video twice, and they were kind of a band I used to like when they just broke out. The What Iv'e Done video is extremely powerful...glad they are taking a stand on global issues and the environment w/o being to political which occasionally happens!

o yeah they just sent me this email... they went to the hospital or something... thats sad since they had to cancel some concerts and all so i guess it was pretty serious..:(

That's kind of ironic in a bad way because a few days ago Cove- lead singer of Saosin, felt sick before the set, did the set, and then threw up a few times right after and was rushed to the hospital. He was put on 4 IV's and had to go under immediate emergency medical surgery. He recovered thank goodness, is doing shows and seems to be alright.

It's just odd that it happened around the same time, you know? The getting sick part of it at least...
