Official Laura Brent Thread!!

Maybe she's only like that at night. It would look a bit strange in daylight.

Heh. My first post in this section of the forum.:p

If she glowed like that at night all the time - that would make it rather difficult for Caspian to sleep when they got married...hehehe

Yes, that crossed my mind - or maybe she can't streak off like that into the night sky after she marries him. As I mentioned in my movie comments at the Dawn treader thread - how is the Green Witch supposed to kill her in Silver Chair if she has such mad flying into the night sky skills? ;)

No it wouldn't, Caspian would just need to ware one of those night masks and besides, she would make a great night light, should he have to get up in middle of the night. :D

Maybe instead of the snake just biting her and her dying, there's an epic battle between the two. And Rilian and the whole court happen to be looking in the other direction at the time.;)

What's sad is your probably right, they will likely have an epic battle between Lilliandil and The Lady of the Green Kirtle- Serpant Form. They probably will even give the Lady of the Green Kirtle a new name. :D

Hehehe! An epic battle between two powerful ladies...sounds sweet!
Although it does say she was sleeping. Maybe she was put into a magical sleep? That's exactly what happens in Silver Chair whilst Eustace, Jill and Puddleglum and Rillian are battling her.

I would imagine that was the only way the Green Witch could kill her then, if she is so talented in taking off into the heavens at a moment's notice.

Rillian's story I think would be open to embellishment, considering I don't think he was actually present when his mother was killed.

A battle between the two. Umm, I'm not a fan. Isn't she supposed to be like really old. It would be like 60 years after Dawn Treader if they keep the same times as in the books. That would put her as being like in her 80s if she's as young as she looks. Unless, of course, stars age differently than humans and she still looks about the same as she does now. That would be weird. Still not a fan of the idea, but if they did that I wouldn't be largely upset.

Plus, it would beg the question...um, so what were the rest of the Narnian lords and ladies, and Rilian, doing during the battle? Sleeping? If they saw the fight, they'd recognize the Lady of the Green Kirtle, and Rilian would have to be pretty dumb to meet with her after that.

So, yeah. I just thought it sounded like something they'd do if they made SC.

That makes perfect sense. During the day, she exhibits more of her human qualities; at nighttime, she exhibits more of her star-like qualities. Maybe in the whole sunrise scene with the birds (if they kept that, because I hope they did), the glow will go away.

Otherwise, it would actually be quite annoying for Lilliandil herself, walking around glowing all the time. She'd probably get annoyed at the way people looked at her...squinting, or whatever. lol

I'm sorry, SirGodfrey, but I wasn't able to find the spot you were looking for. The only part I read about her was that she was welcoming them to Aslan's table.

However, I do think that her leading them to her father or even acting as rather a "wise guide" to them during their travels at crucial moments, would make a lot of sense and add a lot of goodness to the story.

I'll have to try and find the article. It may be in another link. But I agree, I think it would help develop her character over the course of the film, rather than having to introduce her later and have limited time to develop her character. :)

In regards to the comments surrounding Lilliandil and her ability to ascend into the sky, I read on another Narnian web site that Lilliandil appears to Caspian, Edmund, Lucy, and the rest of the crew of the Dawn Treader in visions. She is supposably leading them to her father. At least that is what I read.

Interesting. I was worried that they might replace the albatross in the Dark Island scene with her just glowing or something, but there's an albatross mentioned somewhere in there (possibly foreshadowing that part of the movie), so I'm guessing they kept it in :)

Anyway, I'm thinking this "vision" thing might actually work out well for the movie, if it's done in a way that doesn't seem totally ridiculous. IMO I think it's too early to tell. But from the stuff that they've decided to add (like the "saving the lost souls" thing and overcoming "the darkness within"), the writers and director Michael Apted seemed to have gotten a good grasp of Lewis' philosophy, so I'm pretty sure it will work out great :)

I was worried that they were going omitt or remove the scene of Aslan telling Edmund and Lucy that he goes by another name in their world. I was pleased to hear the scene is included in a extended trailer. :)

I was really worried about that too, but they kept it in!! :D That made me SO happy.

Anyway, about Lilliandil...it'll be interesting to see how the scene/scenes with Caspian and her play out. Hehe :D
