Peepiceek's Odd-One-Out Quiz

#28.
(a) The character who first suggests war against Miraz
(b) The character who heals Puddleglum's foot
(c) The character who knows the nine names of Aslan
(d) The character who is killed by a Calormene arrow five leagues from Cair Paravel

I GOT IT!!It's definitely (c), the character who knows the nine names of Aslan. It is the only one NOT named in the books!!! The other 3 were (a) Glenstorm, (b) Cloudbirth, and (d), Roonwit

You are too clever, BKing!

As for #27 Sarah is the odd one out because she was the housemaid for Digory's Aunt Letty in The Magician's Nephew, whereas the other three, Ivy, Betty and Margaret all worked for Professor Kirke under Mrs. Macready in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Doesn't this leaves us with only the one from MrBob?

4A
1. Lucy
2. Edmund
3. Eustace
4. Shasta
Note: The first three from VotDt only.

Wow! it could be anything.

Lets see. One thing they all have in common is water. They were all rescued from the sea. They all met Aslan, if in different ways.... They were all in Narnia, except Eustace (VODT only). I think the connection here is Aslan...

is the odd one out Lucy because Aslan did not appear to her alone to begin with? The other three met Aslan by themselves. Lucy met Aslan together with Susan, although that was not in VODT.

Any more ideas?

Actually, there are two left from me:

4A
1. Lucy
2. Edmund
3. Eustace
4. Shasta
Note: The first three from VotDt only.

Hint. For the first three, it was something that happened on the first island they came to (island group). For Shasta, it was something that happened very early in the book.

8A
1. Cor
2. Corin
3. Peter
4. Edmund

This is very titular.

MrBob

Shasta is the odd one out - the others were sold into slavery, while Shasta escaped before he could be sold.

Corin is the odd one out. The others all became kings, but Corin escaped that fate when Cor turned up again.

"Shasta is the odd one out - the others were sold into slavery, while Shasta escaped before he could be sold."

Peep, right reasoning, wriong answer.

As for Corin, you are correct.

MrBob

Just an added extra to my quiz, no one who was sold went with their owners. Shasta ran away before he had to go while Lucy and Edmund were freed by Caspian before going with their owners.

I'll try tyo think of a few more tomorrow.

That's a good one MrBob!

Correct - the first one called the other a coward, except for Susan who told Lucy that someone else was a coward (specifically, the creatures who killed Aslan).

Correct again. They all had their heads cut off except for Puzzle, who would have had his head cut off by Tirian had Jill not intervened.

Peeps

That's funny. I don't feel decapitated.;)

OK, I have thought of a couple more:

10A:
1. Andrew and Digory (mainly Digory, though)
2. Aslan and Jadis
3. Bree and Shasta
4. Caspian

11A
1. Helen and Frank
2. The Pevensies
3. Caspian
4. Rillian

12A
1. Peter in LWW
2. Susan in LWW and PC
3. Edmund in LWW
4. Lucy in PC and sort of VotDT

It's a bit of a stab in the dark, but I think this might be about being rebuked by Aslan. Peter is rebuked for not cleaning his sword. Susan, I can't think of LWW, but in PC she is rebuked for not believing. Lucy in PC is rebuked for not following, and in VDT for her actions with the Magician's Book. Edmund is not rebuked, but is instead restored.

Am I anywhere close?

I love how often great guesses are wrong. And really, you consider not cleaning a sword a rebuke on par with Lucy's eavesropping? :D Also, though we don't know what was said between Edmund and Aslan, it is possible he was rebuked.

You were right about one thing Peep: it has to with them as Aslan.

MrBob

yes i see but what is 10A,11A,12A mean?

if i knew the context of the questions then i would answer them!
Have a look at the rules and examples given in the first post of this thread. (There's nothing to stop you answering the questions again, by the way, even if someone else has already solved them - if you haven't looked up the solution.)

Mr Bob numbers his questions with an A to distinguish them from mine, so 10A, 11A and 12A are questions devised by Mr Bob, whereas 10, 11 and 12 we mine.
