Pirates III: A New Beginning

A light thunder rumbled in the sky, and the air smelled of rain. At the thought of finding their way through unfamiliar woods in the dark and rain, everyone's tempers were running short.

"Yet not helping, IOWW," Fish said curtly. "It's jest the dark; she'll find it."

IOWW opened her mouth to retort, but Machia spoke first. "And unless ye know the way, Fish, ye shouldn't be talkin' either."

"Jest hush, all o' ye," Aravis growled. "I need to think." In front of them was a very large, old tree, that had been withered and twisted over the years. "I remember this tree..." she muttered. "I remember passing to....to the left of it. Let's go."

IOWW muttered something inaudable, and Fish sighed loudly.

After wandering in the woods for some time, some of the pirates started growing impatiently. "We should've stayed back at the beach!" they had whispered to each other.

The atmosphere was dead silent in the middle of the night and not even an insect or creature was heard singing to the night. Except for a couple of mysterious crack nothing else seem to be supernaturally out of place. That is, until they got to the bridge that Aravis had been reassuring the crew it existed. "Told ye I wasn't makin' it up!" she said as she pushed a pirate to the ground. "And I swear if I hear ye complainin' one more time... I'ma push ye off the bridge! she continued. But when she turned around she stopped dead on her tracks.

"We can't see the end of the bridge," a Pirate whispered.

It was true. They couldn't see where the bridge ended except a few yards in front of them. And at that point they only saw the ropes that would support them. They couldn't see the floor (is that how you put it?) as it seemed a thick cloud of fog hovered in front of them and around the bridge.

"I don't know Cap'n it doesn't seem safe," Machia said.

"Well, we have to cross it somehow! I mean, It wouldn't be a bridge if it wasn't tied to the other end. We jest 'ave to be careful. I'll go first," Aravis exclaimed.

Azgar was lost. "There's no denying it," he muttered to himself. "I'm lost, and it's all my own doing. Oh yes, seemed like such a good idea at the time, go off and try to find some food without telling anybody where I was going... and this fog isn't helping much either." The wizard stumbled and tripped through the thick woods, crashing and floundering in the brush. Suddenly a tree root snagged his foot and he fell forward. His head seemed to explode in fiery whorls, and he knew no more.

"Cap'n...wait," Fish said. She fingered the coiled rope she always had attached to her waist. She moved to hand an end of it to Aravis, so that she wouldn't fall even if the bridge gave out, but her mind wandered back to what Aravis had said earlier: "Oh Cap'n ye shouldn't wish death on anyone fer yer sake," Fish said. "I'm a pirate. I couldn't careless." Aravis had replied.

"Aye, yer pirate, ye couldn't care less." Fish muttered to herself. She stopped fingering the rope and clenched her fist.

She looked up, and Aravis was staring at her. "Well, what is it?"

Fish shook her head. "Nothin'... jest...'tis nothin'..."

Aye, welcome back, Torri! :) We basically just dropped the old plotline and started fresh, but we're all still the same people (with whatever memories suit the moment...:p). So, there's not a whole lot to catch up on, what 8 pages? And half of it is spam anyway... But if you don't feel like reading all of that, there have been several summaries in the last three pages or so... At this particular moment, we are in a thick fog, and Aravis (QA48) is about to cross over a rickety swinging bridge... So, just jump in at will! :)

Ooh I want to rejoin with the same person I used to have!:D

Name: Jack Terror

Age:23

Personality: Kind but sometimes stubborn.

Fish shook her head. "Nothin'... jest...'tis nothin'..."

"Ok, so I guess I should start crossing," Aravis said as she waved her left foot and then attempted to tap the ground to see if there was a plank of wood for her to step on. "Ok, I'm going to be counting so listen up," Aravis said. She had her back to the pirates as she stretched out both arms so that she could get a hold of each side of the bridge which Aravis thought to be quite narrow. She waved and then tap the ground again and the second and third step had planks in them. "Once you get on take one more step and watch out for the missing plank after that," she yelled. The silver moonlight that managed to penetrate the fog was only good enough to see that in front of Aravis there was nothing but thick fog, but unfortunately the second half of her body disappeared in the fog so she had to be very careful.

Jack was shaking he was so scared. ''I think I need me some rum.''

"ARRRR!! That ye don't, ye lazy sea rat!!" Machia growled snatching the bottle of run away from him... "Gar, ye be needin' rum like ye need a hole in the head!" The first mate paused for a second considering that... "Arrr, nay, actually I think sometimes a whole in the head would actually help some members of our crew... Might knock some sense inter their heads... Arrr, in any case, here, Jack..." Machia reached into his pack and brought out something... A second later he had a torch blazing nicely... "Gar, make yerself useful... Go give this ter the Cap'n..."

LOL!

ic-
Aravis heard some commotion behind her and turned hoping to see her crew. Unfortunately, she was met with the confrontational fog and could only hear voices. "Are ye guys coming?!" she yelled. A few moments later she heard someone let out a scream. "What happened?!"

"Cap'n, Dwight's leg fell through!" Fish yelled out loud.

"Arr..but don't worry it was only one leg. We'll git him out," Machia replied.

"Alright, I'll jest stand here until I feel someone coming behind me," Aravis said while holding on to dear life onto both sides of the bridge.

Just then Aravis heard a loud "Crunch!" from behind her and the sound of splintering wood, as the whole bridge rocked... The sound was also accompanied by a loud "ARRR!!" followed by a muttered: "Gar, stupid bridge..." Then Aravis felt something grab onto her arm and pull itself up... She turned her head and found herself face to face with the First Mate who was balancing dangerously on one foot; the other foot dangled out over the hole where there once was a plank...

"Arrr, ahoy thar, Cap'n!" Machia said cheerfully still clinging to the sleeve of her coat; holding on for dear life... "Arrr, in case ye were wonderin' that there step back there's a bad one! I wouldn't try steppin' on it..." The bridge shook again and Machia started to loose his balance again... His other arm flew out and grabbed one side of the bridge...

"Gar, uh, I don't mean to be rushin' ye Cap'n, but could ye possibly move a plank forward, so I could have all of yers? I'm kinda stadin' on the edge of it, and feelin' like I need a bit more elbow room as it were..." Machia weaved again and an apple fell out of his pocket and down to the abyss below... "By the by, Cap'n, I did have a torch fer ye, but...." The First Mate looked down... "I think t'was afraid o' heights or somethin', 'cause it jumped outta my hand and is now down thar somewhere..."

Character Name: Saruman the White (also known as Of Many Colors, the Wise, Ring-maker, and other self-aggrandizing attributes the fallen wizard has given himself)

Age: Unknown (older than the foundations of Arda)

Role: Villain

It seems the cantankerous old wizard himself has also arrived in Narnia, and has begun to stir trouble among the Old Narnians, reawakening a hatred for those Telmarines who have settled in the land, and seeking to begin a civil war as has not been seen in Narnia. His whereabouts are presently unknown, but it is said he can see far and wide with the use of a device he brought with him from his own world, and thereby is able to communicate with friend and foe alike.

If you think the wizard should have a different role in the present RPG, please let me know through a PM. I'm open to suggestions, and hope to join in on all the fun. :)

I thought this was pretty much a continuation of the old RPG, with a slight skip. BTW, I'm not sure what to do next with Azgar... he's unconscious. Anybody got any ideas?

Actually we threw away our old plot and started a new one. We've arrive back in Narnia and we're trying to cross a bridge because we have a feeling that Aslan has left us a ship on the other side of the island. While the rangers have claimed that Aslan came to Elindil in a dream and told her to go to where the pirates are at (tho she doesn't know we're there).

ooc: I suppose the wizard might have a bit of fun toying with the pirates... ;)

ic: The chilled breeze that had been steadily blowing soon turned into an icy wind. Aravis could feel it in her bones, and suddenly began to shake. Not like she hadn't ever experienced extreme cold before in her life, but she sensed something else that seemed to contribute. What it was, or even who it was, she couldn't begin even to guess.

None of the pirates had noticed an old man, swathed in a tattered robe of dark blue or black, slowly moving towards them. He grinned, baring his yellowing teeth, and with a wave of an old stick he had used as a prop, he struck the ground. The bridge, as rickety as it already was, shook for a few seconds. The old man then disappeared behind some trees, the black night veiling him entirely from view.
