OOC: If the Gryphon has encountered Eric and Nessa--and I figured these two are together, since the Fireman would help Eric make sure of this--then Eric and Nessa should KNOW that the magic box WAS found, thanks to the Unicorn. The Gryphon was the one who BROUGHT the box to Alice on the Unicorn's behalf.
======================================

At some point, the Fireman remarks, "Those two men I spoke with were terribly embarrassed about having run away from danger leaving that old woman behind; but from the sense of magic I felt hovering about them, I told them I was sure that a short-term curse of panic had been placed on them. The Snow Queen does take special delight in humiliating those who are normally brave. I also told them that I had an intuition that Aslan had saved the old woman from harm."

Ooc: You guys go so fast :D

A few seconds before the Gryphon was going to leave he looks up.

Gryphon: I want to clearify one thing. The magic box has been found, I brought it to Alice myself
Rabbit: Fortunaterly! This means Wonderland will be saved
Gryphon: The hockeyplayer is going to pick up his beloved one but when they both return you must tell them to find Alice and the others.

Eric sees Nessa who already gets up her feet again

Eric: Are you alright love?
Me: Yes, but what are we going to do next?
Eric: We are going back to the others Pippin and the Rabbit
Me: Is the rabbit okay?
Eric: He is fine love. Aslan saved him as he saved many others

When Eric wraps an arm around Nessa she feels something

Me: Eric...hold on! What is this?
Eric: What?
Me: Your stick! It has gone and now there is a.............a sword!!
Eric: What???? But I don't even know how to handle a sword!
Me: Come and let's go to the Rabbit and Pippin

The seething Queen of Hearts is so full of injured dignity that she forgets how afraid she normally is of the basement labyrinth. Now, remembering a secret learned from her father-in-law the Ace of Hearts, she finds and opens a secret door. Behind that door is a space adjoining an underground stream, a stream that connects with the troublesome enchanted river.

From the water, the Queen summons a beast larger than a Kodiak bear, able to swim but equally home on land. It is shaped like a combination of a bear and a giant rat, and smells worse than either. Emerging, it decides that the Queen does not smell appetizing--the Queen only realizing _after_ it would have been too late that the thing was considering devouring her. Since it _isn't_ interested in eating her, it allows itself to be beckoned in the direction of more promising selections.

Above ground, the mutinying soldiers are trying to get answers from castle servants and hedgehogs concerning their demands that the war of conquest be cancelled. Suddenly there comes a grating roar. The March Hare cries out, "I heard that sound once, long ago! Everybody RUN!!!" The Cheshire Cat blinks into visibility...hears a still worse roar ...and vanishes again much faster. When the monster appears on a balcony, looking for the handiest way down, a general stampede breaks out.

Except for four braver figures. The Gryphon, the Walrus, the Lion and the Unicorn, forming a team, begin a series of hit-and-run attacks on the mighty abomination, delaying it from devouring anyone.
//// OOC--And the timing of this post can be assumed to fit in with Alice, Nessa, Eric, Eragon, etc. arriving at the castle soon after this point. If Sapphira gets into the act, assume that this monster is more fire-resistant than those birds were.

Ooc: My next entry happens a bit before Joe's post so it will make more sense and it'll bring the others together

Eric and Nessa finally reach the Rabbit and Pippin.

Rabbit: The Gryphon is warning the others
Me: And what are we going to do next?
Eric: My hockeystick turned into a sword!
Rabbit: Don't you worry about that! I think it has a reason why this happened

The Gryphon flies to the others and lands before Eragon and Sapphira.

Gryphon: I need your help. I know where Nessa and Eric are. But I can't carry them with me
Eragon: Okay, then we will do the job for you. Tell us where they are
Gryphon: You'll see that large mountain over there in the distance? You can see it's top. At the foot of the mountain you will see them
Eragon: I can see it even though it's far away but I think me and Sapphira can do the job
Sapphira: Alright! We are going to pick them up now

Sapphira and Eragon set off and fly into the air up to the mountain. The Grypphon flies to all lands and warns the Kings and Queens and then he flies to join the Unicorn, the walrus and the lion.

Me: Eric...what are you looking?
Eric: I thought I heard something
Rabbit: I thought so too
Pippin: But what did you hear?
Eric: I still hear it. It's the sound of a bird? No, it's bigger
Rabbit: I'm going to take a look
Me: Are you kidding? Suppose it's one of those mean and nasty birds!!
Rabbit: Don't worry

The Rabbit walks away from his shelter and looks up. Above him he sees a shadow. A giant beast is flying above the mountain

Eragon: Sapphira! Look! It's the Rabbit! They're over there!
Sapphira: I'm going to land so hold on!

Rabbit: OMG! It's Eragon! And Sapphira!
Me: What?!
Eric: How did they find us?

Eragon and Sapphira land and Eragon jumps off his dragon.

Eragon: The Gryphon told us you were here so I decided to come and get you. Now if you would join me?
Me: But will there be enough space for all of us?
Eragon *smiles*: Sapphira isn't a small dragon! Come on!

Eragon climbs on the dragon and holds the Rabbit Pippin sits behind him. Nessa sits behind Pippin and Eric behind Nessa. Sapphira is going to take off.

Sapphira: Everybody ready? Because I'm going to take off now!

Soon the dragon and her 5 passengers are flying back to Alice and the others

Alice pointed at the castle. "Somethings going on down there!" she cried.
The others looked and saw that there was indeed a lot of running about inside, but that was all that they could see.
"We have to get down there, now!" Alice said.
Just then, Eragon and Sapphira arrive with Nessa, Eric, Pip, and the Rabbit.
"Did we miss anything?" Eragon called out.
"Nothing yet!" Peter shouted back, "but you almost did. We need to get down the castle now!"

The others followed them down and they all stopped short at the gate. "What on earth.....?" Peter began. The giant bear/rat creature was busy trying to catch the servants and the people who were in the courtyard. As the group walked through the gates rather uncertainly, they heard a loud "clang!" and turned around quickly. The gates had been closed behind them.
"Well," said Edmund. "This is pretty kettle of fish."

ooc: That's true

Toj looked at Caspian something was wrong
Edmund saw that too

Edmund: What's wrong with you?
Caspian: Nothing - I suppose it's time we used our weapons
Toj: Yes, but how are is the box and the shoes going to help us?

The Unicorn bought time for them to figure this out--by thrusting the full length of his horn, always unused in his boxing matches with the Lion, into the shaggy monster's right leg. In reply, the monster struck straight down, smashing the Unicorn onto the pavement, though the resultant ripping loose of the horn from its flesh hurt the monster further.

As the Walrus dragged the Unicorn out of reach of being finished off, the Gryphon made a furious dive at the dungeon monster. But the monster seemed to have been saving up an emergency resource which was not unlimited: it breathed out a cloud of something like tear gas, causing the Gryphon to lose control and crash into the nearest wall, where he was knocked senseless. This left only the Lion and the Walrus still fighting--but at least the monster was now slowed down, so the brave creatures still had a chance of avoiding being caught and eaten.

Alice screamed. She couldn't let her friends die like that. She had to help them. Oh, how she wished that Lady Inkling was there to help with the wounded. Anyways, Alice still had her bow and quiver of arrows, so she could fight. Before anyone could stop her, she rushed out into the courtyard to help her friends.

Peter: Toj use that flute to enchant the beast
Caspian, the box must be used to keep the evil inside, and I myself will fight.
Caspian, Edmund, Eragon: Than we shall fight with you.

Toj noticed Alice in the courtyard.

Toj: But what about the shoes
...

She started to play anyway walking into the court

Meanwhile, the mystery of Inkling's whereabouts was FINALLY solved.

Copperfox, having learned from Emmett and Jake about their peculiar adventure, was disturbed about Inkling disappearing that way. So, when he could get away, he borrowed one of the horses left unused by 13-year-old girls who had started outgrowing their self-absorption, and rode back over to Wonderland.

The shifting nature of that realm caused him to arrive entirely away from the main action that was in progress...but Aslan's will guided him precisely to where Inkling was.

The blue-kirtled lady, whom Copperfox held in such high though chaste esteem, was encased up to the solar plexus in ice. At some point after parting company with Emmett and Jake, she had had the misfortune to step into another of the Snow Queen's magical traps.

Having been made aware of current conditions in Wonderland, Copperfox had come prepared--with a battery-powered space heater. Setting this up against the shell of ice, he melted it away from the unconscious beauty. When she was free, she sagged over, alive but still unresponsive. Taking off his coat--for his Navy service had hardened him against cold--he wrapped it around Inkling, gradually warming her. As she began stirring, Copperfox remembered the less physical component of the Snow Queen's magic; so he spoke in her ear:

"Juliet, remember your husband! Think of all his acts of kindness and love toward you. Don't let that walking ice cube rob you of love. We both know that a righteous love is too precious to allow it to be stolen. Be yourself, NOT the slave that SHE wants you to be!"

At last Lady Inkling came around, just as Copperfox was halfway through a song from "Les Miserables." When she was able to stand up with support, Copperfox boosted her onto his horse, while he walked and led the animal. "You're too drained to do anything more for folks here at present," the old sailor told his friend. "I'm taking you back to Monologues where you can get properly thawed out; and you can phone your husband to come pick you up."

Alice heard ToJ playing the flute and watched the bear/rat creature watching her. It was going after ToJ! Alice aimed carefully and shot the one of the creature's eyes. It roared in anger and pain and turned, on Alice! Alice backed up and put another arrow in the string.

The Walrus hurled himself against the monster's injured leg to impede its charge at Alice. The monster in return bit the Walrus frightfully--a bite that would have instantly killed any human being. Caspian prevented the monster from finishing off its prey by hacking at its face; then, as Alice's next shot wounded the monster, Caspian and Eragon dragged the Walrus to safety. The Lion made another attack of his own, and also got hurt.

ooc: i just did.

Caspian: Toj, i don't think the flute is working, it must have some other reason
Eragon: oh my I've seen that flute before, it belonged to a princess once, it's supposed to melt your heart of evil...
Toj: melt your heart?

Peter: We don't have time for this. WATCH OUT BEHIND YOU !

As if in answer to TOJ, the Queen of Hearts comes running out into the courtyard, barely missing being hit by a chance back-swing of Eragon's sword as Eragon fights the hairy monster. "I'm so sorry!" cries the voice long accustomed to demanding executions. "I don't know how I came to be so--" Then she is knocked sprawling by Eragon, as the dragon rider is himself knocked sprawling by a movement of the monster.

Sapphira, returning to the scene with Eric and the others and setting them down on a rampart, dares not use her flame, for fear of burning innocent bystanders. So she physically leaps upon the monster before it can make an end of Eragon.

But Sapphira is in for a rude surprise: take away flight and flame, and this creature is STRONGER than a dragon. Tearing both of Sapphira's wings to uselessness, it then fastens its tremendous jaws on her graceful neck, only her sturdy scales preventing her throat from being instantly torn open.

Peter Pevensie comes to Sapphira's rescue where Eragon could not, leaping onto the monster's shoulders. Plunging his sword (not the magical one) into its flesh, he goes for more damage by striking the monster's arrow-damaged eye with his fist. The monster lets go of Sapphira; but she, though not killed, is fainting from the cutoff of air in her windpipe. Peter is caught now, and looks like being the next target of those toothy jaws....

=====================

OOC: This would be Eric's cue! Anyone else, please find something else to do, so as not to deprive Nessa of the chance to write a heroic bit for her idol. One option for "meanwhile" action could involve the KING of Hearts showing up to interfere.
