Eragon, less hurt than others, recovers...takes in the fact that Sapphira's injuries are not immediately life-threatening...and proceeds to apply direct pressure on Eric's arm to stop the bleeding, trying to keep the arm higher than Eric's head so gravity helps the process.
Edmund, meanwhile, corners the King of Hearts.
"What do you think you're going to do with that flute?" he demands.
"Bargaining chip," the unathletic monarch pants in reply. "Try to get...HER on...our side again."
Edmund, far stronger than the lazy card-king, swats aside a desperate scepter-blow and wrests the flute out of the older man's grasp. "If you mean who I think you mean, fool; and if she's as much like Jadis as I think she is; she'll never be on ANYONE'S side but her own!" Contemptuously shoving the King of Hearts into a chair, Edmund hurries to bring the flute back to TOJ.
Back in the courtyard, some of the protestors, who found courage to return, are giving first aid to the Lion, the Unicorn and the Gryphon. At the same time, the Walrus is helping Sapphira lurch up off of her back. The dragon is in no danger of dying, but she will not soon fly again.
Meriadoc now says to Nessa, "Where did that Queen of Hearts get to?"
