OMG!!!!!!!!! Walter Koenig (AKA The original Chekov) is going to be at the Trekfest in my area this summer!!!!!! I'm planning on going this year, so I may get to meet him! OMG!!!!!!!!!! O_O

Very cool! I hope you get an autograph. :) I just saw in the news that Leonard Nimoy says he is retiring from show biz. He is 70+ years old... I forget, 73 maybe?

Nevermind, I emailed the head to clarify and it was just a glitch on the page cause he was there last year.... *cries*
Oh well, there's still other fun stuff at Trekfest.

Leonard Nimoy actually recently turned 79! I hope he doesn't retire!!! He still seems full of energy for 79--he recently visited a town that was called Vulcan in Canada because the inhabitants there apparently pretty much worship Star Trek, Spock in particular. In the summer they have a fest called Spock Days. :D I wish I could go, but that would kinda be called border hopping since I'm in America.... xD

Anyone here actually a fan of Enterprise? I like the other series too, but I was really never interested in owning any. With Enterprise, however, I do want to buy en entire series. I think that was a better series. And there is no silly "security team" whose members look like mall cops with red shirts and are the first ones to go!!!:D

The only Star Trek series I haven't seen are Voyager and Enterprise. I enjoy TOS best, then TNG and then DS9. Lol I don't think it would be the same watching Star Trek without making cracks about the silly redshirts. :D I watch TOS most, but I can't avoid liking TNG because it was always my Mom's fave, so we watch that one when we can, too. DS9 was on a couple of DVDs we got that had fan faves, so we watched it and I did enjoy it. Enterprise and Voyager were on the fan fave episode DVDs, too, but we never bothered with them. Lol...It took me long enough to warm up to the characters on DS9. Heck, it took a while to warm up to TNG. Not that I didn't like it--it just didn't feel like Star Trek to me for the longest time.

I like the all the other series, but Enterprise is a little more up my alley. The series is a little bit darker and more adult oriented (not that families cannot watch it).

Gonna watch some more Star Trek with the fam tonight. =) Watched the very first Star Trek movie and a few episodes from the third season last night. Lol we were up till three AM.

Enjoy! if you're going to stay up til 3, might as well be watching Star Trek. :) The first movie, though, was kind of a disaster. Try Wrath of Kahn, much better.

I'm not really a fan of Enterprise.

I've never even seen it.

It feels too much like going backwards to me.

Star Trek shows should be set after Voyager in the timeline, not before The Original Series.

And a Lilformers cartoon on the subject:

LOL! I think you've been unduly influenced against Enterprise, not having watched it. But that's alright. You don't have to like it. I happen to love that series.

I personally thought Enterprise ahd a very interestign concept to it, but I think it suffered over all from beings hifetd around in it's time slot too much

Has anyone heard any news in regards to the next Star Trek film?

according to trektoday.com, it's slotted for release either next year or 2012. None of the actors, such as Simon Pegg and Zoe Saldana (Scotty and Uhura, respectively) have no idea as to when filming will begin; they say it'll be sometime this year.

its 2012 officially and the storyline is still under wraps but in a magazine i read they were saying something abut maybe bringing the Gorn from the original series back that is all jj is keeping this one top secret as much as he did the first one

I hated "Arena". I personally don't care to see that race again because I don't see any possibilities for a story. And frankly, I think they should get a different director; Abrams has no business further destroying the Star Trek universe.

ToS is so kitschy; that silly lizard lumbering around and hissing at Kirk, it's hilarious. I am glad they shoed their true colors and sided with the Klingons... :)

Well, hilarious or not, I hope Abrams doesn't make a movie with them. Of course, if Abrams does direct another ST film, I won't be seeing it in theaters. After the last one, I regret seeing it in theaters AND buying it on dvd. It's an okay action adventure, but he couldn't destroy the original timeline anymore than he did, I don't think.

The timeline is destroyed, but also still exists, so it works. I thought that was an elegant way to allow new Kirk adventures in the movies while retaining the old ones...
