OOC: Aravis-Y, all the characters you started out with have moved into Southern Marches; your Griffin should be able to follow their trail from the air. Ninecatcher was first to start east; no more than a few hours after you flew off as a messenger, she headed out carrying the human girl Harmony and the young Faun Laertes on her back. They have joined up with more humans now, including a woman named Goewyn and an Archenlandish man named Libertas. Marius, Bryan, and the older Faun Eglamor, with Dwarfs, got moving separately later.

Sennulf

Sennulf sniffs the ground as he slinks around the pass. He lifts his snout grimly and looks to his second-in-command.
"A Gryphon, a Faun, a Centaur, a Tiger, Dwarves," his frown deepens considerably, "and humans." He surveys the area. "We won't be finding any Goblins here... alive, anyway."
He raises his voice from its confidential tones to one of authority for the rest of the Secret Police to hear. "The rebels can't have gone far. They've only been gone a day or two at most, and the humans will slow them considerably."
His eyes pass over the pack swiftly and he indicates a smaller Wolf with his snout. "You. Report to the Queen that the Pass needs reinforcements. Inform her that we are following the rebels and will... reprimand them accordingly." He pauses. "She will wish to know of the humans. I would advise tact."
His voice takes on the overarching tone again. "The rest of you, with me. It's about time we had some real entertainment."

(ooc Pose out, to the marches!)

**Longtail**

Stealing through the tree filled pass and trying his hardest to blend in with the snow whenever he heard a sound, Longtail makes his way onto the Narnia side of the pass. He tries to stay off the main route lest he be delayed by running into /her/ scouts and guards. Infact, there is a tiny ledge 20 feet below the main path and he is walking on that. He is now glad that he has his long tail because without it he may have fallen down the cliff many times. Eventually, the ledge he is on gets a little wider. Then after that he comes to a point where he is forced up a steep slope because there is no other way to go. As he tops the hill he sees that he is in a forested glade, beyond that, he sees low-lying lawns with trees coming up from them here and there. The trip through the pass has taken him most of the night and half the day because he had numerous times where he had to stop and or walk slowly. He has finally made it to Narnia. He is about to step onto the area called the Southern Marches.

Longtail poses out.

OOC: For those who may desire to know he is still about half a day behind Ninecatcher et al.

OOC: Though we are not on the Pass, we are on a pass to Archenland. Therefore untill we find an Archenland thread, we can pose out of Southern Marches to here.

Some of Gripstone's strength returned to him at a most providential moment. They had come to a break in the trail: a section of rock ledge had crumbled away by erosion, and the gap till it resumed was too wide for the Humans or the Fauns to cross when they couldn't get a good start for a leap. Ninecatcher, however, was able to leap across from a standing start; and Gripstone was able to hold securely one end of a rope whose other end his wife was holding. Libertas, Dar, Mathan, Laertes and Orestes crossed by the rope; then Gripstone used his exceptionally powerful forepaws to grasp the knobs and cracks in the rock face. His jaws held the rope end, and everyone on the far side was now holding the other end; among them, they would be able to save him if he lost hold and fell.

Gripstone made it. This left only Longtail, who had been guarding the rear; for him, crossing would be easy.

And it was. Longtail crossed the gap and came up to the others, "One thing is for certain, that gap, while it did cause us some trouble, will help us too. It will be just as hard for anyone trying follow us to come across it if not harder."

"If we, or anyone from Archenland, should come back north by this path," speculated Orestes the Faun, "perhaps we could bring along something like a plank to bridge that gap momentarily."

"That may be a good idea since this makes a good trail, aside for the gap, to smuggle humans over the border. It is very close to the heart of Narnia and has yet to be guarded." Longtail agreed, "Perhaps, we could rig some sort of bridge that we could hide on either side of the gap so to keep it ready for use when needed."

"And we must continue to devise a _variety_ of tactics," rumbled Gripstone as he dragged himself along the ledge-path, "so that we're never predictable for the enemy."

"Agreed" was what Longtail responded."We wish we could help you further when we get to Archenland, but I guess that returning to Narnia would be rather pointless for us. Do you think that you could find us something that we could do in Archenland that would help you in your mission?" Dar said after he had been quiet for awhile.

NPC Faun

Orestes said: "Son of Adam, you can help our cause by becoming a productive, useful resident OF ARCHENLAND. Narnia will almost certainly never again be a safe place for you and Mathan within your lifetimes; so you must find work, wives and a future in your new homeland. By being loyal, and making a healthy contribution to the life of the kingdom, you can help to prevent native-born Archenlanders from resenting your presence."

Having crossed the gap, they made their way along this path to Archenland. Soon, it could be and was remarked upon that the path was widening. Longtail, upon noting this and the darkening sky, said, "Should we stop here for the night or continue on into Archenland." The foxes were all for spending the night in Archenland rather than this mountain trail.

The magic salve had continued working on Ninecatcher and Gripstone; she was walking almost normally, though she was not yet in full fighting condition, and he was at least walking. They both preferred to continue into Archenland, as did the brother Fauns Orestes and Laertes. Libertas abstained from voting.

"I guess that means we continue on then. Perhaps we may meet up with old friends when we get there. Hopefully, they will be able to give us some more of the salve. It has been most valuable."

The remainder of the route offered only one more obstacle worth mentioning: a place where a huge stone cornice, like a stalagmite with no cave around it, leaned so close to the trail that Gripstone was only barely able to squeeze through the narrow gap, scraping fur from his sides as he forced his way through. After this, the way became easier, and showed a downward grade in a southerly direction.

Libertas walked behind, thinking of the future. Where was he going to go? What was he going to do? He found this job of ferrying Narnians to safety very fun and adventurous, but at the same time, he felt that he had to stay in Archenland for a while. Maybe live in the capital. He knew his father had friends there, so he would be able to find a job somewhere. He looked at the group ahead of him and decided to stay with them as far as they went then go his own way.

As the cultivated fields of the human-dominated kingdom spread before them, all of the Tigers were aware of the problem of knowing where they might be allowed to hunt for meat. But this did not make them forget common decency. Ninecatcher told Libertas, "Young man, we owe you a debt of gratitude for the risks you have taken in standing by us. May Aslan reward you for all you have done."

OOC: The first time I read this,I thought you were going to eat me.

IC: "Your welcome Ninecatcher. I came looking for adventure, and I certainly got it. I should be the one thanking you for risking your lives for me."

"You played your part, young friend," said Gripstone. "No single one of us can overcome all the world's evils. But by helping to make your native country strong, you will be helping to prevent accursed Jadis from being able to extend her power farther."
