Retaw came out... "I'm hear he said" showing a face of anger and pain but tried not to show it, though it was helpless... "I'm Retaw the Griffin" he said to Marius walking throw the forrest in the direction where his father was lying.

"Not only must the slain Griffin be buried," remarked Ninecatcher, "but there are usable weapons lying about, which could be fittingly turned against our foes--by creatures who have hands. For Aslan did say that some good might be achieved by _delaying_ the Witch's conquest even though it will eventually occur. And another thing: Retaw and I left one Goblin alive and unconscious, near the body of Retaw's father. If any trustworthy figure of authority is close to here, our prisoner should be handed over for questioning."

When Retaw was arriving where his father was, the goblin was waking up, so Retaw grab him with his claws against the floor without hurting him, "Ninecatcher" he shouted.

Ninecatcher was quick to reach the Griffin's side, giving the prisoner no chance to attempt anything. "Retaw, I admire your self-restraint in not finishing him instantly." To the Goblin she said, "I don't hold out much hope for you to survive this day, foul creature; but if there is any hope for you, it lies in giving true answers to someone who knows what questions to ask." She nodded toward Marius.

~ ~ We're sort of stalled here till Princess posts again, but--

To Marius, Ninecatcher said, "Without letting him know how much you know--just in case we might have cause to let him live--I urge you to use your knowledge of present conditions to choose the best questions to ask him."

OOC: Alright I have no clue what what questions to ask or who would be a prominent figure.

"You two, keep watch while I question him." The centaur comanded. Then withdrawing his sword, Marius let the point rest against the goblins neck.

"Who are you? On Whose business cometh you hence?"

OOC: Those are good opening questions. Next ask him how numerous is the force he and the other two belonged to; what other types of creatures are part of this force; and where the main body is.

Ninecatcher signalled Retaw that the two of them should scout around in opposite directions. Just before starting out, the Tigress remarked "casually" to the Centaur, "After I take a look, do you mind if I bring back my lunch and eat it here?" (She was counting on Marius to pick up her meaning: that she would drag back to this spot the corpse of the Goblin she had slain outright, and she would begin devouring it in the sight of the surviving Goblin. She had already figured out that meat would be scarce here; and evil though most Goblins were in spirit, their bodies were still digestible.)

OOC: Who plays the goblin? The mods?

The centaur shook his head to indicate that he did not mind and had no preferance in the matter. Forcing the goblin's head just a bit higher, Marius continued. "Now you will answer me, or I will take you to a higher authority who will make you! How many other foul beasts of you are there? Where are they camped? What is your business here?"

Ninecatcher, having detected no sign of imminent new threats, did drag her slain Goblin to where the live one was being questioned--and, first stripping away everything the Centaur might find salvageable, began to devour the Goblin's carcass, leaving some for the Griffin. She would point out to him that no food must be wasted in the new conditions of Narnia.

At a suitable moment, when it did not interrupt Marius in the middle of anything, she deliberately remarked, "You know, this is the nearest I've ever come to eating human flesh, human life being sacred to my people. Now I can say: they're right, it does taste like pig!"

Retaw holded the Goblin really strong maybe that will make him talk, "Now answer" said Retaw to the Goblin while this holded his breath to feal no pain, "Talk" shouted Retaw to the Goblin and this one reacted.

OOC: I'm happy to oblige. :D

The goblin's breath is a foul stench, and he does not even flinch at the sight of his comrade being eaten by the tiger. After all, he would do the same with one of his kind he had slain.

He seethes with rage, hissing his reply. "You are the pig, tiger, and sheeee will deal with you, as she hassss with many who were worthier. I owe you nothing..." He lets fly a glob of spit, which lands just short of the centaur.

"Assssss for my businessss here, it is none of yours, and you will not make me reveal what I do not wissssh. I owe you nothing." The tone is full of contempt.

Ninecatcher looked back and forth between her two new friends. "We already know _that_ at least two kinds of enemies are about in numbers: these vermin, and the Minotaurs of which my husband and I slew some. Keeping this petty abomination alive to defile the air with his gibbering may be only delaying us to no good purpose. Who wishes to finish him? He looks at least as edible as his friend here."

"Wait," the Centaur cautions, "He may yet prove useful.I will take him to my superior." But first the Narnian must be burried with honor.

OOC: I'm editing this cause my last post was written at sometime near 12-1:00, and I wasn't much awake.

Beckoning Retaw to come along, Ninecatcher followed Marius, dragging the half-eaten carcass with her. She was quite serious about not wasting food under these totally alien (at least to her) conditions of winter.

OOC: Marius, do you plan to salvage the dropped bows and their arrows? Ninecatcher can't help you, she has no hands.

Marius looks to the tigress, and says not unkindly but comandingly "Watch him, I will go bury the elder gryphon. Retaw, if you can gather the bows and straw arrows together. They will be useful against the enemy. " He trots off.

OOC: I just realised where is he going to get a shovel?

Giving the live prisoner a sudden swat to the head to knock him out for the next ten minutes or so, Ninecatcher trotted after Marius. "Worthy Centaur, though I doubt it is possible to dig into the soil in these conditions, there are many rocks on this hillside facing us on our north. I'll push some of them toward where our deceased friend lies, and we can raise a cairn over him. Don't worry about the surviving Goblin; he won't be making any defiant speeches for awhile now."

Ninecatcher brought up stones, as she had proposed to do, so not all of the enclosing of the fallen Griffin's mortal remains would have to be done through the hard-frozen soil. At the same time, her nose and ears were keeping watch for any new danger.

Marius helps the gryphon and Tigress bury the adult gryphon. "May he find his way to Aslan's country." He says and then salutes. Nodding to the Tigress, he goes and gathers the bows and arrows Retaw has piled up. He ties the goblins hand and ankles. "Come, we must be gone from this place before we are seen.

OOC: Who will carry him?
