To begin, Narnia lived up to and surpassed all my expectations! I had been waiting this movie for some time now, and I just recently read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to get a feel for the story line. I could see the potential for expressing the message of such a short book, and I was not disappointed...The movie followed the book closely, adding a few extra things here and there where the movie required. What impressed me was that the changes only served to enhance the original story, instead of hinder or mutate it. The style, direction, score, and acting were exceptional. The details paid to every little thing made me oblivious to many of the special effects. Even seemingly small moments like the revealing of the wardrobe from beneath its covering had a flare and artistic style worthy of the magic of Narnia. The Beavers, Aslan, and all the other CG animated creatures had expressive faces and designs that made them truly life like. Overall, the movie brings C.S. Lewis's story to life and imparts the true message of his book in a way that is not only beautiful and magical, but also as a good family movie.
