the movie was great! i'm guilty of having had a chance to read the series of books, but did not. Going into the movie, i knew that i would have to be open-minded (i.e. talking animals, walking into wardrobes into another world, etc...) even though i didn't read the books, i was able to follow the story-line and really appreciate the movie overall.
