This is the best movie of 2005! I'm a huge Narnia fan, and this movie did not disappoint!

Here's a quick review...
This movie stuck to the book very well, only leaving the plot occasionally, which only developed the characters better, and made the transition to the big screen easier. Georgie Henley as Lucy was phenomenal; it was amazing how quickly she could change her expression to fit the mood. Tilda Swinton as the White Witch, was perfect, she came across as cold, uncaring, and just plain evil! Skandar Keynes as Edmund, was very good, he made the change from bad to good very well. I was pleasantly surprised by William Moseley as Peter and Anna Popplewell as Susan; I was worried about their acting (from what I've seen in trailers, etc.) but they are right up there with the acting of the others and portrayed their characters very well. Other good performances were, Jim Broadbent as Professor Kirke, who came across as slightly mysterious and funny, and James McAvoy as Mr. Tumnus.

Aslan was fantastic, he didn't look CGI, he just looked like a real lion, and Liam Neeson gave him a noble, understanding, yet very commanding voice. The Beavers, with their cockney accents, were hilarious, always cracking jokes, they also looked pretty good CGI-wise. I couldn't believe Mr. Tumnus's goat-legs they looked completely real! Also, the wolves, gryphons, fox, centaurs, etc. were very well done too.

The cinematography was beautiful, not to the extent of The Lord of the Rings, but still great. The editing was also good; it flowed nicely. Some of my favorite scenes were:
-Lucy stepping into the Wardrobe for the first time (this scene was almost exactly like the book, including the dying blue-bottle and mothballs).
-The meeting between Mr. Tumnus and Lucy was very funny, especially when Lucy sticks out her hand to shake his and he doesn't know what to do.
-The meeting betweenm Tumnus and the White Witch.
-The Sacrfice and Resurrection of Aslan; both, very powerful scenes. Tilda Swinton also does some of her best acting here.
-Of course the battle. Unbelievable, this is done perfectly.
Actually everything was wonderful, the only complaint I have is that it wasn't longer. I will see it again and again and hope they decide to make the other 6 books into movies.

P.S. Make sure you stay in the theater after the credits come up. There's a great scene of Lucy and the Professor.
