Overall this was a very good movie. I highly recommend for those who have read the Chronicles of Narnia, specifically this book, and for those who have not read it to go out and see it. The movie does a great job in filling the audience as to what is going on in the story. There are some pacing issues in the way the scenes unfold that make the movie seem to go by sort of fast, even though its over 2 hours long. One example of this is the scene with Father Christmas which seemed a bit rushed and ended kind of abruptly. I think more could have been done cinematically to enhance the weight that this part of the story holds on the rest of the movie and the impact and significance Father Christmas' appearance had on the world of Narnia and the main characters. Despite these pacing and cinematography issues, this movie was pretty awesome, especially the battle scene in the end. It was more than I expected from a movie with a PG rating. The acting in the movie was very good, including the performances by the four children cast as the story's main protagonists. Tilda Swinton was great as the white witch and so was her dwarf sleigh driver. I thought ginnabrik or whatever his name was was an interesting character. Another part that blew me away was the scene with Mr. Tumnus early on in the movie when he's playing that weird flute instrument and the figures start to take shape in the fire. That scene was really cool.

People who are into scifi/fantasy should go see this movie too, adults and children alike. I really hope they adapt the other books in the series into movies and use as much of the same cast as possible. In the end, I'm just glad they made a pretty decent movie and didn't ruin the story. What more could you have asked for?
