I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. When I was 10 years old in 5th grade, our teacher read us this first book of Narnia, and I loved it so much that I was given the set as a present on my next birthday. I read it many times as an early teen and a few since that time. I am now 37.

I felt quite familiar with the story for the reasons above. I was surprised and pleased with how accurate to the book the movie was. I think a common gripe amongst moviegoers when a book is made into a movie is that "they changed it all around". This was far from the case, and so the movie was a complete delight.

The changes which *were* made, made sense, and even large added scenes (such as the frozen waterfall/river scene) I found very enjoyable.

My complaints are mainly with the pace of the movie at times. The beginning seemed slightly slow (I enjoyed it having read the book, but felt a newcomer might be bored). There were places where the pace picked up nicely, but then again there were some lulls where I considered visiting the ladies' room. (I didn't, and was glad in the long run).

The children don't look like siblings but it didn't bother me. If I were a pre teen again I'd be positively besotted with Peter. I thought Susan was cast perfectly. At first I didn't like Edmund (not for the obvious reasons, but the casting) but by 1/4 way through the movie I thought he was perfect. I had trouble with Lucy at first too but again she grew on me. I thought Tumnus was cast too young. The actor did a fine job but I pictured Tumnus as a bit more of a middle aged faun, a young Bilbo type character or a white rabbit from Alice, slightly more scatterbrained and certainly not bordering on young and hunky.

All in all wonderful job, and I plan to see it again very soon.
