A picture is worth a thousand words, and so, it is difficult for me to even write a review on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Readers, before you even read my rambling, note that it is really hard for me to write my praise for this wonderful movie, as I can barely describe how great it was.
To begin with, Narnia was more than I could have hoped for. I sat in the dark theater going through the motions. I laughed at the meeting of Mr. Tumnus and Lucy, cried at the Stone Table scene, breathed a sigh of relief when Edmund was healed from his injury, and smiled at the defeat of the Witch and the restoration of a free Narnia. I can't even pick out my favorite part I loved it all.
They portrayed Mr. Tumnus really well. He looked exactly as I imagined him to be. The Pevensie actors were brilliant. Lucy, particularly, did an awesome job. I could feel the wonderment as she stepped into Narnia for the first time and the sadness when she saw Tumnus turned to stone. Liam Neeson was excellent at bringing Aslan's voice. "There is a deeper magic…."
The only thing I didn't like in the movie was the constant bickering between the Pevensies. In the book they are nice and polite to each other, but in the movie they give out a lot of put-downs among themselves. Yet thankfully, those were short.
Once again, this movie was awesome and it is going down as one of my favorites.
