My first glimpse of Narnia came at a church convention. Our the afternoon program for the children consisted of the animated version of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. My first impulse was to find out if there were more movies like this one. I soon found out that while no other animated movies existed for the series, there were in fact 7 stories in the series. I quickly devoured them all, and many times each. My parents are still in somewhat confused as to my fascination regarding the chronicles. Having said that, I was really nervous about the adaption to film. How many times have we seen stories we love butchered in the name of artistic license. How many times have we hoped that a good message would be portrayed accurately just to be disappointed. Thankfully, not only was the movie almost entirely faithful to the book, the added scenes (which I will not name) fit in quite logically and added to the overall story, rather than detracting from it. I was very impressed. So much so, my daughter and I saw it twice this past weekend, and we intend to go again on Tuesday. I can't wait for a sequal. With the amount of business its doing, they can't help but make more!
