Review by NarniaMom

4.8 / 5

We loved the movie! No, the movie wasn't exactly like the book, but I think we all have to realize the impossibility of that. I found the changes a great addition to the story.
The kids acting was superb. I can recall the first time that I read the book feeling some empathy for Edmund. The movie brought all those feelings back. The look on his face when he really begins to realize what he has done...
Both Susan and Peter were excellent. I was struck (moreso than when I read the book) with the similarities between Lucy and Peter, as well as those between Susan and Edmund. As a Mom, I was very proud of Peter when he accepted his role as Sir Peter!

I think litte Lucy stole the show. She is a doll and the scene where she meets Mr.Tumnus is classic!

My only complaint would be the music. Although in many places (quieter scenes) I found it ok...I think this movie really called out for a classic symphonic score! A full orchestra (London Symphony for example) would have been much better. I would have apprieciated more developed musical themes for the charachters as well. There were too many electronic components to it.. It really bothered me in the battle scene. I actually enjoyed the music in the SuperTrailer in that scene.

The movie is great! What a treat to have something to look forward to as far as movies go! Lord of the Rings had spoiled me, so I was more than ready for something like this again! Now..here's hoping for Price Caspian!!
