I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan and when I found out that the Chronicles of Narnia TLWW last May, I couldn't wait to see it.

I had the privledge to see it on opening night at the El Capitan in Hollywood California. Even though it was fun, I was a bit distracted by the enthusistic crowd. The next day, I got another ticket and saw it again with my nine year old son.

It was wonderful! Hollywood for years has been insulting the intellegence of our young viewers showing them lame movies with no meaning or values. What a refreshing change.

I was surprised with the action in the opening scene and the lump in my throat when the characters were saying good bye to their mother to excape the London Blitz. It was also a nice suprise of how the film portrades the siblings chemistry. Lucy was my favorite character who I believe is the pillar of the story who is the example of a child like faith. Edmund also was the example of our imperfections, Susan a sensible nurturing beauty, and last but not least, Peter the brave protector of his family and relunctantly the land of Narnia.

I saw a few flaws with the special effects but was easily forgivable with all of the other effects. You almost believe beavers do talk.
The music and cinematography was breathtaking. I felt I was right there with the Pevensie kids, feeling the chill and warmth. I wish the relationship with the kids and Aslan was more detailed and not so rushed but I also understand little ones in the audience would get a little wiggly.

I'm a mother of three young boys and I look forward to making Narnia our favorite DVD classic. Bring on Prince Caspian!
