Let me say what i did not like and get that out of the way. The first time Lucy comes through
1. The wardrobe it is so bright it appears daylight. This was a major mistake.
2. Certain scenes such as an elf setting upon edmund with a knife or the death of the witch were very bland.
3. The last scene where the professor tells Lucy that the way to Narnia through the wardrobe is no more is very sweet then as soon as the characters are out of shot a light comes from the wardrobe and we hear the lion roar.
A complete contradiction to what we are just told.

What iwas great about the film:
1. The story, one review i read said that in a way the story is the star.
2. The children. Lucy in particular is exceptional. I cried when she first met the Faun.
Edmond too was great. I thought the portrayal of a child who was handling his grief (Due to the war)differently to his siblings thus causing him to distance from them was well done.

There is probably a lot i could add that has been well said by others here. I will say that as i walked away from the cinema those things that bugged me still anoyed me. However in the days that followed as i described different scenes to people i found my self getting choked up emotionally.
I think this is the power of the film and of course Lewis's writing that the imagery and emotion stays with you long after.
I'm going again in a couple of days and can't wait.
