Let me start off by saying that I was never a huge Narnia fan - I'd never even read the book before I saw the movie. The previews looked good enough; towards the opening of the movie, I would sometimes get little chills when I watched them. But still, when I took a seat in the theater, I wasn't expecting anything mind-blowing, just a good time with the friends I'd come with. I shouldn't say I was pleasantly surprised, because it's more like I was blown away.

I can't say exactly what it was about Narnia that got me in such a deep way. True, the acting - especially Georgie - was quite good, and the scenery was inarguably beautiful. Many of my friends complained that it was corny afterwards. But to me, I guess it was everything I wanted in a movie. I had enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies but sometimes they were too dark, too long, or too confusing for me. Narnia was everything I missed in LotR and more. The music, especially, really brought me into the world.

Now, as I sit here listening to the soundtrack and having seen the movie three times, I still glance up at my closet and wonder if someday I'll open it and find Narnia. I've read the book, loved it, written fanfiction, reviewed fanfiction, looked at fanart, drawn fanart, and I still can't get over it. Some of the music still makes me sob. The first few days after I saw the movie, I was constantly on the verge of tears. This is -not- normal for me. I -never- cry in front of other people.

It may not touch other people in the same way it touched me, but I would reccomend to everyone - take the chance. It may be much more than you expect.
