Review by Haglette

4.9 / 5

I made sure I read the book first then see the movie and for the first time in my life I liked the movie better than the books....Possibly becasue of the added subplots but it otherwise followed the book perfectly.
Costumes and Makeup were Pefect couldnt have matched what I had in my head any better!
I bought the soundtrack that gives a clear indication that I like it the only downer was that is wasnt used enough, but is v. powerful in the Battle Scene.
The kids were excellent little actors esp. I felt Lucy as her character had a larger emotional range and she did it well! Which always bothered me about the Characters in the book was that they were 2 dimensional. The movie brought through more depth. Liam Neelson playing the voice of Aslan (the lion) bothered me coz he talked calm and wise which reminded me too much of Qui-Gon Jinn which of course he played in the Phantom Menace)
It was terrific directing! No complaints at all!
The CG effects are so perfect now I couldnt tell what was really and what wasnt....Aslan looked so real...cept when he started talking but that understandable.
I felt the screen play was too cheesy at Moments and lines taken directly from the book didnt sound right on the screen because they were either too old fashioned or the young actors couldnt pull it off.
All in all...Loved it! Saw it twice! That 22 dollars! My room is covered in posters now. It definately lived up to my expectations to the book!
