I grew up on the books and books on tape and I was thrilled when I heard they were going to make it into a movie. The old BBC movies were long past due. I thought all the children were very good, with Georgie being a very convincing Lucy, Skandar being a supurbly selfish and immature Edmund and William a very couragous(and good-looking) Peter who was always my favorite because I am also the eldest sibling. Anna was a cometime noexsistant Susan, mostly just standing in the backround or yelling at Peter. The special effects were quite disappointing with modern technology as it is. Lord of the Ring had jaw-dropping special effects, but Narnia was below average. The talking animals were hugely disappointing, escpecially the beavers who looked like the just stepped out of a second-rate video game. Aslan was ok, but the scenes where the girls are riding him were very badly super-imposed. The battle scene is spectacular! Peter's charge accros the field on a unicorn sends chills racing up your spine. The corination scene is very beautiful with incredible costumes for the four kings and queens. A very good movie, just could have used a little more in the special effects department.
