I first came accross copies of Narnia at a local book store and passed on, yet come Nov.of 04 I saw the same books advertised in a Christian book catalogue, interested for sure by then I ordered a copy of the seven in one volume, and wow great stories I realized these were plain, easy to read and to capture the imagination, such I have a good one. Well then for sure I heard about a movie being made of one of the books and yes I was hooked on Narnia, of course I much appreciate the spiritual values held within these stories as a Christian believer such is of importance. I am indeed captivated be the character of Aslan.
Looking foreward to Dec.9, the day the movie would be released, I hoped to be among the first to see it. Interesting enough though I was sceduled to work on this day, it so came that the nigh before it snowed and the museum that I work for, having outside exhibits was declared ,a closed day due to weather, yet by the morning it was only about and inch of snow and a sunny not to cold day. So here indeed was my chance to go see the movie,God does give us our wishes and it was a treat indeed. The film was very true to the original story and allowed one to feel how the people felt. Being born in Europe I could relate to the war scenario at the start. Even if I was born post WWII I still relate to those events. I felt hurt for the mothers who had to seperate from their children to keep them save.
The scenery in the film was excellent as well as the music score, I often take much note to the music that accompanies a film, I feel that a good soundtrack can add much to a film, it helps the viewer to feel the movie. The animals such as the beavers were indeed cute and true to life, unlike earlier Narnia film versions put out by BBC, while these were great renditions the Disney version allowed the film to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, to make talking animals look as they do in nature is creating a real life effect. The children were great also, it takes a lot for kids to do good actig out in a major market movie, and that means that the directors and other crew need to be able to work with kids, so that came about also allowing for a great performace by the younger stars in the story. I am looking foreward to future segements of Narnia, Oh do we have to wait two years for the next one Oh dear. I think Narnia should have gotten more than just one measly Osker, whats with that. Yes I'm hooked on Narnia. Many bravo zulus to Disney and Walden Media, they did a splendid job once more. By the way speaking of Disney the 1954 version of 2,ooo Leagues still holds lot of fans and I happen to be one of them,so now there is Captain Nemo and his marvelous Nautilus, for everyday and my nautical interest, and now there is Narnia and Aslan for the spiritual sector of life. Let those good films keep coming there are those who cheer for such. Let it so be.
