My wife and I just saw the movie on DVD last night. I have to first say that I loved the books as a kid, so I knew that I would love the movie.
We both liked the movie a great deal, liked the actors that portrayed the children, the White Witch was perfect, Asland was perfect!
From an adult perspective, seemed a little cheesy in spots and was certainly missing depth when it came to the children getting there weapons and knowing how to use them. Just seemed to me like something was missing in the transformation of the children, especially if you had not read the books.
When comparing it to Lord of the Rings, the characters in Lord of Rings were better and deeper, but I think that I enjoyed Narnia more. I enjoyed the symbolism of Christ, the parallel to Santa Claus and the White Witch and Asland just made the entire movie worth while!
