It had been a while since I'd read the book, so the movie definitely accomplished its main purpose: revival of interest in the series. I absolutely loved the film, and went back to see it a number of times in theaters. An enthralling film for all ages, it contains a captivating story that is neatly woven through superb acting (including on the part of the four children), and beautiful visuals.

The soundtrack of this film is exceptional, one of the best ones in years, because, unlike many other film scores, it doesn't rip off already existing works, but provides a unique, original eloquence, that mixes classical techniques with modern sounds.

Whether to buy the DVD or not was a no-brainer. I bought it the day it was released, constantly nagging my parents of the date weeks in advance. This movie does not just appeal to those with an interest in fantasy or family films and stories. Anybody who's out to enjoy a good, heartwarming film should see it, and I eagerly anticipate the next six!
