I really, really enjoyed the book, but the movie brought my imagination to life! For those of you people who believe that the books are always better than the movie, I disagree. This movie has some of the best special effects I have ever seen! The whole movie, from beginning to end, is truly intense. Not only did my younger cousins like it, my parents also really enjoyed it. That goes to show you the appropriate age group for this movie, none! It's a truly sensational film. I also like the way that the movie incorporates some true facts along with the magic and wonder of Narnia. An example of this is the war, at the opening. My favorite thing about this movie is that it isn't all fake, the emotions and sincerity of the whole ordeal is related to most of the viewer's personal lives. I do suggest reading The Magician's Nephew first though. It may not have been the first book written, but it is the prequel. The Magician's Nephew shows you a number of things; it tells how Narnia began, how the animals talk, where the wardrobe came from, it explains the lamppost in the beginning of Narnia, it tells about how the White Witch [Queen Jadis] came to Narnia, and it explains the man that the 3 children go to live with. So, yes, I do suggest reading that book too. I LOVE the cast members and there ability to act. They played their parts AMAZINGLY! I don't think that they could've found any better actors for the parts. Music is dramatic, and "with the moment." The length of the movie is perfect. It's not too long and it's not too short. Also, the movie doesn't focus on one thing too long, so it never loses your attention. I was absolutely fascinated with the movie!! It will be a family favorite for years to come.
