My Movie Review:
The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe Disney/Walden Media flim (2005) From The Book to the Movie

I actually never got to see this movie until last summer but this film was originally made in 2005 so that's why it's part of my title. So anyways I must admit I really did like this movie, Disney and Walden Media did a fantastic job on this one. While at times it did stray a away from the true plot of the story, overall this movie did do extremely well. The thing that disappointed me though was the added characters such as the minotaur general Otmin who fought for Jadis the White Witch and her army. I never saw Otmin the Minotaur general of the White Witch in the book, besides unless C.S. Lewis put him in there then why add him? He's a Movie Character which I never like when Hollywood decides "hmm lets add a character to the movie that never appeared in the book, and therefore take away from the author (who is now long dead) lets take away from his spirit of the book." Same applies to Oreius a Centaur in Aslan's Army and Asterius another Minotaur in the Old Narnian Army. Why Disney even did that,or director Andrew Adamson or whoever was in charge of the script and characters, I think was a little off beat with the true story.
Also the thing that surprised me was in the movie there was hardly any interaction with Jadis and her dwarf servant. It just took me by surprise, besides when I read the book I noticed how a relationship was established with the white witch and her black dwarf servant. I also, thought the Disney/Walden Media film was better and a big improvement from the BBC film version even though the BBC version was more true to the book. But otherwise the BBC version is not anything like what Disney/Walden did. Overall I thought this movie did very well and I liked it no I loved it and will be watching it again and again!!!
I also watched the Extended Edition of LWW as well and the 8 minutes of scenes were actually pretty awesome but not as good in comparison to the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions. Besides I would have loved 30 more minutes of scenes in LWW than only 8 minutes. There really wasn't much that was added. As far as acting is concerned Anna Popplewell did really well with her acting for the character of Susan, it was perfect only thing I do wish was that she had Black hair like the Character from the book. I guess Andrew Adamson was not that concerned with how Anna looked for the movie. But Anna is beautiful I guess they didn't have the time or money to dye Anna's hair black, or it could be they didn't care either but who knows.
Oh and Anna is an Awesome Archer and did well holding a bow. William Moseley did a wonderful job playing Peter, he was really good at the sword fights. Skandar Keynes did a great job playing Edmund and certainly brought his Character to life and it was awesome. Georgie Henley did a great job playing Lucy and she looks so innocent in the movie, and does very well with her Christian portrayal of the Character in the Movie. I think C.S. Lewis would've been very proud of all four of these actors.
Tilda Swinton does an amazing job of portraying The White Witch Jadis, and does it very well, again C.S. Lewis would be proud. Liam Neeson does a very good job of voicing Aslan and makes him very much sound like Jesus. Though no one really knows what Jesus's voice sounded like it was probably gentle, deep and sweet, I enjoyed hearing him voice Aslan an Allegory of Christ in Narnia. Now despite the fact that I may have forgotten any other actors and was not happy with the addition of the movie Characters in this movie I think every actor who had a verbal and non verbal part in the script did very well. C.S. Lewis or Jack as he was known then I think would have been overall impressed. But that is just my take on it. Who knows what C.S. Lewis may have thought if he was still alive today.
Lastly I want mention that my favorite part is when the Witch enters Aslan's Camp and the conversation of Aslan and Jadis take place in regards to Edmund, and that Aslan is willing to die in Edmund's place. This movie shows a lot of Christian Themes and that is what made this movie a big success, So I want extended my Congrats to Disney and Walden Media. I love this Movie it was Awesome!!!!
