The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe was first published in 1950 and written by C.S Lewis. It is a great, adventurous, exiting novel with loads of action going on most of the time.

The main characters are Lucy, her brother Edmund, their sister Susan and the 4th child Peter who is the oldest. The other main characters are Aslan the mighty lion and the White Witch who is terrifying, mean, evil and horrible.

The adventures start when young Lucy discovers a whole new land through a wardrobe in the professor's house called Narnia. Soon all 4 children find themselves in Narnia too.

In Narnia there are some interesting creatures such as centaurs, fawns, a giant and much, much more. Along the way the children meet 2 friendly beavers and a great, mighty lion called Aslan. The worst most untruthful person who the 4 children meet is the White Witch.

One of the most exciting scenes in this excellent novel would have to be the battle and the crowing of the children in Cair Paravel.

It may seem sad that Aslan gets killed by the White Witch who does not know the magic of before the dawn of time. So prepare for an amazing recovery of Aslan.

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is a great novel written with a lot of information and description. I recommend this book for kids aged 9 to adults and over. I rate this book a 9 and a half out of ten for its descriptive writing and great use of characters.
