I loved the book, and even enjoyed the corny BBC version of the story, but the Andrew Adamson directed version did not cut it for me. I was so stoked about this film and left feeling cheated and disappointed. My main problem was with the director/screenplay. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to let an animation director in charge of such a huge live-action adaption. I felt this version was not magical, especially with ASLAN. He just gets so little screen time, the audience really has no reason why they or the children should care so much when he is killed. The characters in the story are great but the film just didn't capture the depth to any of them. -and the mixing of live action and CG wolves during the raid on the Beavers' home was so poorly done. It hurt to watch them switch from a nice puppy looking real wolf to a menacing scary CG wolf. Unfortunately this movie is an example of what happens when a great story falls into the hands of an uninspired director. 2/5 stars
