“The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” – stage musical
Lyrics
La la la la la… La la la la la.
(VERSE 1) Just beyond the Sea of Unbelief
There lies a magic land of endless peace
Beyond your dreams, not as it seems,
Enchanted land of lions, kings and queens.
(V. 2) With childlike faith, we’ll sail on fantasy,
We’re driven by the wind we cannot see.
We’ll ride the waves
Our dreams have made
As our charade becomes reality.
(CHORUS) NARNIA, NARNIA,
It’s just a land of make-believe,
Or can it really be?
NARNIA, NARNIA,
You look through children’s eyes
And you can see.
(V. 3) Do you believe that fairytales come true?
Well, I can say for certain: Yes, they do!
So come with me and you will see
Imaginary tales can come to be.
(CHORUS)
(BRIDGE) To take a dare to walk on air
May seem a bit naîve,
But anyone is welcome there,
As long as you believe.
(CHORUS)
(TAG) Just look through children’s eyes
And you will see.
La la la la la… La la la la la.
NARNIA!
Behind the Song
NARNIA is the Main Theme from Dawn Treader, the Musical, sung by Lucy and the cast at the opening of the show. The theme is restated throughout the musical in various forms by the Orchestra and Chorus. The lyrics reflect the very heart of the Narnian stories — “Narnia, Narnia. It’s just a land of make-believe; or can it really be? Narnia, Narnia. You look through children’s eyes and you can see.” The song is as it appears in the musical, with a recently added bridge.
Verse Three is sung by Lucy and Eustace in the show’s Finale.
