Those who catch the preview of the epic adventure due out Dec. 9, either on TV or when a longer version is attached to the May 19 arrival of the Star Wars finale Revenge of the Sith, may ask themselves, “Can this be Disney?”

Within a 48-hour period surrounding this domestic launch, the international “roadblock” (dubbed in over 11 languages) will similarly introduce the trailer around the world, with simulcasts on popular programs in such countries as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Korea, and Latin America. In addition to the broadcast launches, each territory will partner with print and online outlets to maximize exposure

Harry Gregson-Williams’ score for Kingdom of Heaven, a taste of things to come? Along with every solo instrument –and Gregson-Williams does seem to have done his homework here– nothing in the ensemble is ever able to overpower the chorus, however, and it’s the Howard Shore-like moments of beauty from The Lord of the Rings that make this score shine.
