The Chronicles of Narnia

St. Charles the Martyr Episcopal Church will host a five-week course entitled “The Best of C.S. Lewis: Part Two.” The course is open to the public and attendees need not have attended part one last year. C.S. Lewis, who died in 1963, was a scholar at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. During World War II he was heard weekly on the BBC radio as a voice of comfort and encouragement.

Mooney added that Disney would tie in video games to movies, and potentially launch games before films to help promote them, as with “The Chronicles of Narnia,” a new movie franchise that Disney will launch next year based on the books by C.S. Lewis.

“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” a spectacular live-action/CGI motion picture adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ beloved literary classic, began principal photography on location in Auckland, New Zealand, on June 28, 2004. The production, a joint venture between the Walt Disney Studios and Walden Media, is the first live-action adaptation of Lewis’ book for the motion picture screen, and represents one of the biggest undertakings ever mounted by both companies.

Fathers of fantasy C S Lewis and J R R Tolkien shared a literary legacy; a love of initials and a desire to spread the Christian message through tales of myths and monsters.
