Tron Legacy was a heavily hyped sequel that just released in theaters, but the movie has received terrible reviews from critics. A few weeks ago I posted about when the Voyage of the Dawn Treader received an early review rating of 63% (view story). The Dawn Treader reviews have dropped from the initial 63%, but the new Narnia film is still far better reviewed than Tron Legacy’s pathetic rating of 47%. Tron Legacy is direct box office competitor with Voyage of the Dawn Treader. When The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe released in theaters it had a great opening and then had competition from Peter Jackson’s King Kong the next week. Several people expected Narnia to fall victim to King Kong, but The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe remained the #1 film. This week we will wait and see if Tron Legacy flops and Voyage of the Dawn Treader retains its #1 status. I was very excited for Tron Legay until I heard that it was an absolute bust. I recommend that anyone who wants to see Tron Legacy must first watch the original tron. If you didn’t like or understand the 1982 original than you will probably not enjoy the sequel. Today I was contacted by Cyclops from Aslan’s Country who recorded a segment from yesterday’s Glenn Beck television program where Glenn Beck strongly recommended The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie. This was part of a “favorite things” episode. Glenn Beck called the Voyage of the Dawn Treader “Fantastic” and said the new Narnia movie was,”‘On par with the first if not better than the first.” Glenn Beck has read the Narnia books. As he talked about reading the series to his kids he held up a copy of the Magician’s Nephew and said,”It really is just about the creation of the earth and it’s Adam and Eve and everything else. You know completely disguised so adults like Liam Neeson can’t figure it out at all.” Glenn Beck said “It’s a tremendous tremendous series” and gave his audience members copies of the books as well as tickets to see The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. In this interview he mentions that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be sold on DVD/Blu-Ray by Easter and he even mentions www.NarniaFans.com in the interview. If you are lucky enough to win one of these props you must agree to never sell the prop.
