Review:

Despite the title, Quest for the Lost Lords does not summarize the entire story of Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It only deals with finding Lord Bern, and it is just as well .To try and tell the full story in an easy read book would  leave the story very hallow, and that is not the point with this series.

With the I Can Read Narnia books, the focus is to try and help encourage and foster reading skills in early readers. The book promises to have a high interest story for a developing reader and it does that very well. Arguably, of the Lost Lords the incident involving Lord Bern is probably the one that can stand the best on it’s own, as it is really pretty simple. The episodes involving Lord Rhopp in the Dark Island may be far to frightening, the three at Ramandu’s Island would give away too much of the story and the last two other lords are dead.

Parents should remember that this is based on the movie and may contain elements not in the original book. However, I can say that the story certainly is interesting and will most likely serve as a good gateway for younger readers. I can say as with the rest of the I Can Read series these would most likely be the books I would use to help introduce a young reader to the land of Narnia.
