Not since Piltdown Man…April Fools 2013.

They said it couldn’t be done. Some even begged and pleased that it not be done. Seriously.  Some of you yelled, screamed and insisted we never, ever do this again. But one way or another April 1st came around again and as sure as the snow melts in the spring, we at NarniaFans pulled off another April Fools. Most of you actually enjoy this and enjoy the fun we have.

One reader, lionesslucy, told us that,

“Because of the depressing outlook on the Narnia movies, I haven’t been keeping up with Narnia Fans recently, but I remember you guys always had fantastic April Fools posts, so I had to check in!  I wasn’t disappointed :)   Thanks guys!!!”

That right there brought a smile to my face. Afterall, we’re all fans here, and what good is being a fan if you can’t have a little fun.

This year was a bit different as one of you, Nathan Bayliss, actually contacted us, told us how much you loved our jokes and even suggested some. It was his idea to do the one about the faun skeleton so a huge shout out of thanks to him. It is much harder to come up with jokes with no Narnia movies in production, and yet they are so much fun to do and it’s great to see our readers want to get involved. Thanks again, Nathan!

This site doesn’t just belong to me, or Paul Martin but all of you. Next year, if any of you have ideas for jokes please feel free to contact us.

Any rate here it goes. Time for the disclaimers…

  1. Scientists have NOT discovered a faun skeleton ( though consensus in response does indicate that it would be really cool if they did). Also, Shout out to EveningStar for the reference to the Piltdown Man in the forums in the Dancing Lawn when commenting on the story. And yes, yes, that is a reference to Dr. Grant from Jurassic Park in the article as the head of the project. ( Props to those who caught it, as well as my other little references in the posts.)

2. There will NOT  be a Christian Avengers project that will combine Narnia with LOTR, Les Mis and Left Behind. Lets face it such a thing would be a logistical nightmare, especially for in terms of the copyright on at least 90% of the material mentioned.

 3. There is NOT an Out of the Silent Planet TV mini-series ( or movie) in the works. Though some of the casting choices would be awesome if they did. Most of those are my fan chocies and you are welcome to them.

That’s it for this year. I hope you guys enjoyed the posts and look for more to come.
